Got done working on a ludicrously high-poly tyre for the Lampyridae - one of the mainwheels - only to have AC3D mysteriously "vanish" the submodel of the the tyre itself! I raged quitely for a few moments before finishing a great chunk of the hub geometry - part of the mesh which, thank God, didn't disappear.

It's a setback, but nothing non-replaceable. Still, after all that analysis to get the shape to closely match the mainwheels of the F-16 (the 'Lamp has tyre dimensions based off that of the F-16's), I have to do all the work over... However, once it's good, all I need to do is revolve and mirror it, so I won't complain too much.

i'm rather pissed that i hung around for 6 hours after the graduation ceremony to go out with some people i might not see again for a very long time, and it turns out only 2 show up.  i had to drive home to charlotte at 11 on little sleep, through the worst weather i've ever driven in.  i finally got here at 3:30.

I graudated, spent four hours with my Mom while she was visiting from Florida, then got back home.  Open my graduation/birthday cards, and find $1000 between them.

This little portion of money is going toward a laptop for notes/utility and miscellaneous.  I have all the real essentials covered by scholarships/FAFSA.

i'm rather pissed that i hung around for 6 hours after the graduation ceremony to go out with some people i might not see again for a very long time, and it turns out only 2 show up.  i had to drive home to charlotte at 11 on little sleep, through the worst weather i've ever driven in.  i finally got here at 3:30. 

Wow, that sucks.  We had ~120 at the graduation party the school threw.  Rainy, but not horrible.  Speaking of which, I just got back from that.  Twelve straight hours of parties is tiring, especially when bowling, swimming, and the awesomeness that is bungie running is involved.

Just realized I have to decide what my middle name will be by 11:30 tomorrow. 

I hate decisions.

Most of my classmates heard my middle name for the first time during graduation.  Got many compliments on it being an awesome middle name later, which was unexpected, but cool.  Unless you use it very often, it's nearly inconsequential, it seems sometimes.

I'm busy editing the FreeSpace Wiki at the moment. I took a screenshot of all the FS2 retail Terran ships on mediavps with the default light settings yesterday, and now I'm in the midst of making sure that their addition to each individual article does not break the page they are on.

I'm supposed to meet my lecturer in five hours so that he can transfer some footage I shot last Friday from an SxS memory card to a more accessible storage device.

It is now approaching 4 am, and I need to be in school by 8 am to tell the guys in charge of the memory card to hold on for an extra hour because I told them I would return it, as well as one of their keys, by 8 am. I need one and a half hours to get to school, and fifty minutes to get dressed. In other words, I need to get up at 5.30 am.

I think I'll just stay awake. If I go to sleep now, I won't be able to drag myself out of bed in one and a half hours' time. I'll stay up until 5.30 am, go to school, get my footage transferred out, return the memory card and keys, eat lunch, then go back home and fall into a coma.

It's not impossible; playing ST:R made me do this once. I can surely do this again.

Bah, you only need a pencil and notebook for note-taking, and a desktop will totally fit in a dorm room. That said, laptops are still handy.

I guess this is where Brotherhood starts branching off from the first show. Or rather, this is where the first show branched off from the original storyline, and Brotherhood is just sticking to it.

You know, I tried to start watching the new series, but every time I see the new show, the mental note that "this is a retcon series..." just really turns me off and I'll not suffer to watch it. I'll watch the original two seasons of FMA any day, but I just can't seem to appreciate this one.

Which brings me to the question... What's the point of the new show anyway? Why cover the older story again, which from what I've seen of the new one, was better anyway?

It's not a retcon.  The first FMA didn't follow the manga after the first couple seasons, and this one does.  Consider them completely independent of one another.  The point of the new show is to actually follow the manga, and it does a superb job of that.  I immensely prefer Brotherhood, both for the better animation quality and the story.
