Got a new PC from Dell.  Powered it up and was met with a hardware failure and a lot of beeping.  Discovered the RAM cards they put in it were utterly borked.  How in the ****...?

Well whatever.  Called them up and they sent me new RAM; now it works like a champ.  Still kind of though.

They made this stupid new thing where if you message someone who isn't on your friends list, it will go to their "other" box instead of their inbox, unless you pay a dollar. If they reply to it or manually move it to their "inbox" inbox, it will do the same for subsequent messages from that person, and apparently it works retroactively... but it's still stupid.

They claim it's to prevent spam, but that's bull****. It's obviously just a scheme to make more money.

I don't really see it as a huge deal.  If I want to send a legitimate message to someone, chances are they're someone who would accept a friend request.  Plus I think you can attach a short blurb to friend requests anyway, in case you're concerned about the person not knowing who you are.

Actually liking the program now it's actually a bit stable compared to ver 1.6 or whatever it was i used years back.

social networking is so ridiculously creepy. it is analogous to voyeurism/exhibitionism. everyone is wanking in public, trying to insist that their member is the largest and they have great mastery over its operation. everyone is trying to get everyone to look at their dick (metaphorically speaking, of course), all while everyone is trying to look at as many dicks as possible. what is even more disturbing is that society frowns upon you if you do not partake in the dickfest.

I feel ya though. Doesn't matter when I go to bed, I always wake up at 2pm
Even if I couldn't fall asleep until 9am where I would be asking myself whether or not I should still bother, I still end up waking up at 2pm

Made the transition to blender 2.6x from 2.49 last night and so far so good, getting used to the hacked about properties displays and only changed a couple of key bindings so far.
