About a month ago I discovered a female acquaintance from high school (a different one!) had created a Facebook account. I tried to message her, but didn't feel like paying the $1 thing Facebook recently added.

Brain taken over by hormones --> decided to pay the $1 yesterday. Saw this afternoon that it says "Seen 11:10 pm" (yesterday) next to that message, but still no reply. Le sigh

They made this stupid new thing where if you message someone who isn't on your friends list, it will go to their "other" box instead of their inbox, unless you pay a dollar. If they reply to it or manually move it to their "inbox" inbox, it will do the same for subsequent messages from that person, and apparently it works retroactively... but it's still stupid.

They claim it's to prevent spam, but that's bull****. It's obviously just a scheme to make more money.

well i might not have a facebook account for much longer then. and since i'm being for the most part ignored by the few people that are the real reason i kept it at all, i guess i don't need to cling to it.
