etched a pile of circuit boards last night. i combined like 6 projects into one large batch to save time/resources. in the end neither was saved. but i got a pile of boards so i can go nuts on building projects for awhile.

the big board of the etch was a custom r/c transmitter board that replaces the mainboard of a ps2 controller. also my vga dac for my fpga dev board, 2 power supplies (one variable smps, one 5/3.3v breadboard supply), an attiny84 dev board, and a dram (i think its an 8MB chip i desoldered from an old sound blaster, and im not even sure it works) board (also for fpga). i build the smps so far and it works fine.

There are a few micro armor rule sets floating around, GHQ is probably the best manufacturer. Its pretty fun since you can do some pretty large scale ops with integrated combined arms inf, armor, artillery and cas. Plus a lot of eras are covered, I've got a late WWII US Tank/Armoured Infantry battle group but I'd like to add a 80s Bundeswher force in the future.

Wow, these miniatures are really detailed considering the scale.

I've recently discovered that if don't want to spend too much money and painting is not something you enjoy, there are a lot of free, downloadable papercraft models in scale, which can be used as proxies,

although the 1/250 ones look a bit blocky

I have so many games waiting for me right now that I can't decide what to play. So instead I spent the last 6 hours reading threads on HLP. It didn't help with the initial problem.

Funnily, I am doing so as my current FS2 Campaign at the moment. Just finished Nordera Day and Stranded yesterday night. But the latest humble bundles, steam sales, gog.com as a whole and two consoles with a backlog of over 150+ games combined do not make things easier. Especially if you're working almost fulltime on top of all this and still have a fiance to spent time with. ^^

Considering FS2 again, I - again - feel the distant urge to make some review threads about some of the more unknown campaigns that still are playable and how they are holding up with current builds. Still debating how (and especially when) to tackle this. Playing more FS2 than anything else in the last 2 months also made me want to look at fredding something myself, although I feel like that will be really really really time consuming as soon as I get started.

A time machine. I need myself some time machine. That'll do the trick. Either that or winning the lottery. Whichever is more likely to happen first.

I just ordered the first book of both Log Horizon novel and Koten-bu (Hyouka) novel from CDJapan.

When they arrive I just wish that I'd be able to read them but at least I've shown some support to the authors (rest of the books will follow in due time).

Well, yes, but music assholes have most of my ire at the moment. There's one living right below me.

Fortunately, loud music like that is against the apartment complex's rules, so I may even be able to get this douchebag evicted. That would be oh-so-satisfying.
