Have one of those written up, but it is a little more difficult to draw in paint, and I prefer standard.  40 in. isn't that unwieldy, and when made completely of composites, not too heavy.  It might be a little unbalanced to the front, but it shouldn't be too bad.  The only pieces of metal on the entire frame are the magnets and little bits of wire.

EDIT:  That thing seem so simple.  Is there some basic fallacy to the concept that keeps these from being built?

EDIT:  At this time, I would like to point out that the muzzle velocity goal is not some gigantic number.  I would be happy with subsonic speeds (work on getting it up there later).

They are. My headphones are capable of draining almost everything from two AAA batteries in two months if I don't use them every day.

Not cool, I rarely get this incensed without some form of drink or stimulant. . 
I'm gonna ask to go one level up in the chain if he fails to at least pay whats owed (time and a half for three hours) plus i've got some time in lieu i'm cashing in.

We're about 40% done with FREDding after a couple months' work, and we're about to pass the number of missions present in the original WiH alpha campaign. Bunch of cool new models, everything retabled and tweaked, AI profiles, custom interface, music, fun stuff. Whee!
