MSWord has somehow corrupted the story that I've been working on for the last three months such that I am unable to do anything with it besides look at it.

Just as I started actually working on getting the damn thing posted up.

No pendrive backups?

I rely on them, oftentimes. In the past three years I lost tons of work, and it happened twice: that's why I like transfering files when possible. I'm not a backup maniac, though, as most backups of mine are several months old. I have backups of my current WIPs here on HLP, which is a nice thing. :)

i scored a bottle of rum after my mom failed cooking with alcohol. i allowed it to happen because i eventually get free booze. so i might get drunk (not sure, its only 80 proof).

ms apps tend to spew out an endless stream of backup files. as if they expect their programs to crash randomly. theyre usually hidden, so if you enable hidden files in your folder options, you can recover them. i once saved some author's civil war epic with those.

Wasn't the problem. I could open it, scroll up scroll down, even highlight the stuff, but any attempt to alter/copy/paste it would result in a crash and it spewing up twenty recovered files that if altered would repeat the process.

So I side-by-sided the windows and just copied about fifty pages of crap manually by retyping. Just finished.
