Interpretation night at Kendo, it's when we study actual kata and forms for kenjutsu using bokken.  We went through some kata for the shōtō, shōtō being the short sword component of a Samurai's daishō.  It was interesting since you can see similar moves in Eskrima and even Großes Messer for that matter.  Its funny how even though melee fighting styles may have developed independent of each other across the globe if developed and refined enough they often reach a similar result, in large part because of whats ergonomically possible for the human body.

Nother night spent in study of The Days Of High Adventure.

When I spilled milk on my old laptop, I just unplugged it and rinsed it in the sink, and then it didn't turn on for 3 days, but after that it worked perfectly.

So I was just sent an e-mail from home regarding amusing research and-

In May 1995, a Serb T-34 attacked an UNPROFOR outpost manned by the 21st Regiment of the Royal Engineers in Bosnia, injuring a British peacekeeper.

EDIT: Jesus christ, somebody claimed on a WW2 forum that a T-34/85 was destroyed by a US airstrike in Afghanistan back in 2009.

A T-34/85. They started building the damn things back in 1944.

The cost of the T-34 probably is a rounding error on the price of the air strike.

I mean ****, do we even have anything in the inventory to take it out that would still leave us in the black?

Possible, but former Iraqi is also very likely.  At the end of the Gulf War the US seized quite a lot of the abandoned Iraqi equipment and shipped it to Afghanistan for the final push against the Communist Afghan Regime.

Demilitarized T-34s go for between 10k and 40k on the open market. An AT-4 or fewer than 5 rounds of GAU-8 ammo is probably cheaper, but if they couldn't reliably tell what it was after it was hit we're probably talking a Maverick.

I've got nothing against popping it, cash isn't as important as soldiers' lives, but its still a bit absurd that a situation arises where we don't even have a way to take out such a target that's economical.

Except we do, just not in the airspace at that time.

Anyway: Looking up the effects of friction on mechanical advantage in a pulley system. Yay Intro to Mechanical Engineering!

Actually, I have to give it credit for being an interesting topic to learn about.
