just got back from my last football game in Carter-Finley.  won 38-3

Picked up 5 books for a bit of light reading.

Played the actual game of BattleTech with a few friends at the FLGS.  Two Hunchback 4Gs vs. a Commando 2D and a Grand Dragon 1K.  I lost the Commando second round of the match to an 11+ hit on a leg, immediately after which I ejected the poor bastard.  He didn't even hit anyone before he went down.

Next two hits of the game were both by me.  One Hunchback got into exactly 10 hex range, and despite his best efforts, got stuck there again next round.  On both rounds, my PPC connected right to his head.  Scratch one pilot.

Next few rounds, I won init, and backed the other Hunchback into a corner of the map.  Then he won init and I had to retreat or take an AC20 to the face.  I lost init for the next three rounds, and he managed to close the distance enough to get off a salvo.  Both MLs and the AC20 hit my right leg, tore it clean off.  My return fire punched a hole in his left torso, and ALMOST critted the ammo, and the next turn (for which I was prone and propping myself up on an arm) just wasted itself against his right half.  He took out one of my arms, and I had no choice but to eject the next round.

Final results:
1 Hunchback with no head
1 Commando with no leg and a missing cockpit (to ejection)
1 Dragon with no leg, no arm, and a missing cockpit (also to ejection)
1 Hunchback still standing with no armor on its whole left half but no missing sections.

If it's at all possible, we should try to get a mechwarrior multiplayer match or two up someday.

Got back from a open house night at the fencing school.  Demonstrated Kendo and Chinese Staff for the crowd, earlier I had raked, composted and mowed the yard then went for a run.  So I'm running low on energy now.  Might do a little painting on my Hussards but more likely I'll just call it a night.

freetrack is nice, but i perfer my trackir. however i still got the freetrack build that works with the trackir camera.

I have learned that if I try to think through an emotionally compromising decision, then I won't take the risk of making the decision to do something... so, unless there's a blatant reason as to why I shouldn't, I just do it.
