Wore my new winter riding gloves to tonight's lesson. Very warm and super grippy and best off all my hands weren't frozen solid when it came time to untack the horse. When I got home I cooked up steak tips, onions, peppers and rice with a Pineapple Sake Teriyaki marinade.

I went to the bookfest at the Brisbane Convention Centre with some friends.

I don't think I've seen so many books laid out on tables like that. There was tens of thousands of them! New books, old books, books that are rare and out of print... And not only books, too. They had music CDs, records, cassette, old and new software/games, DVDs, VHS tapes, board games and puzzles... so many things.

Funnily enough, I picked up three games and only one book - The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larsson. The games were Ford Racing 2001, Falcon 4.0 Allied Force, and - I can't believe my luck to stumble on it - a boxed version (so it included all of the original manuals and promotional stuff) of Network Q RAC Rally Championship plus the X-Miles addon (which I didn't know existed). I already had that game, but a) I only had the CD of the original game, and b) I don't know where it is.

So, I'm a very happy camper right now.

Oh, you poor, misguided little... That's so cute, when you're all naive like that...

Also, nice picture, though the focus is a little off, which makes it kind of hard to judge, and I think the lines around the lips may be a little hard, though that could be either focal issues or the WIP-ness of that part of the picture.

Unfortunately, after that last incident, which also made me decide that keeping my birthday low-profile was a better idea, I've never viewed my birthday very positively. Something strange always happens every 1 February. With today, it's the transport system.
