I don't care for yuppie snacks but during my grocery shopping yesterday the old lady at the sample counter managed to convince me to buy some pretzel crisps with this humus dip and I must admit its pretty damn good.

Dear Linear Algebra teaching staff:

Don't assign us lab assignments if MATLAB doesn't have the proper libraries installed to calculate them!

Signed,
A disgruntled student

Do professors ever think about this sort of thing? Do they ever look at the labs they write and ****ing TEST them first? This is the second time I've had this happen.

Not as bad as the Operating Systems lab from last year, but still...

Hey Nuclear1, could a character take Patriot Express from Baltimore to Ramstein to Kuwait?

Civilians, not likely.  PE and Space A travel are reserved for military members and their dependents (including retirees).  But yes, PE does regular flights from BWI to Ramstein, but the third leg changes (it could go to Al Udeid, Kuwait, or any other base downrange).

Have them look at Section 3, Finding Flights.  I never used Space A when I was in.

Oh, it's not just religion, man, politics does it too.

Since when did we have an April Fools Day board?!

As long as I've been on the forums. :blah:
Whoa, I can't believe I haven't seen it before!  :snipe:

Anyway, my sister downloaded an absolute ****eload of anime, Iron Maiden, and Cyanide and Happiness for the last week, resulting in our family blowing the monthly 50 gig cap. Hello, dial-up. :(

50GB is a fairly sizable plan here, tbh, though there are improvements slowly filtering through. I'm on 5 GB/month, since I get all my internet via my phone, which is great when out and about, not so much for DLing big mods and such. But I leach off my brother for big DLs (mostly tv), so I get by. :)

Re: W-H-I-Y-L I pity the fools that diss it.
Yeah, I was actually overjoyed when we upgraded from 20GB on 1.5mbps to 50GB on just over that speed (it's meant to be something like 8mbps, but it never, ever, gets to that).

But yeah, 50 gig was actually fine until my sister started downloading crap just for the sake of it...

It should get better when we get that NBN. Oh, who am I kidding, that thing is a bloody joke.  :D

Re: W-H-I-Y-L I pity the fools that diss it.
NBN will be awesome. And at least the government's doing something on a large infrastructural front. We've had a massive opportunity over the last 6-8 years of major, mining driven prosperity to really rebuild things, and what do we have to show for it? Very bloody little that I can see, At least with the NBN, 10 or 20 years from now we'll be able to look back and know we did something[/i[ to prepare for the future. Even if it turns out to have been the wrong thing - and I honestly do not think it's going to be the wie elephant the libs would have you believe - I'm happy to take the gamble. The potential payoff, after all, isn't just a broadband network, but it might just be the catalyst that reinvigorates the public's tastes for big, ambitious, expensive projects that deliver real, useful and long lasting outcomes.

Re: W-H-I-Y-L I pity the fools that diss it.
Yeah, that's true. I'd rather have some faster broadband network that's obsolete, rather than what we have now, which is even more obsolete. But regardless of which party ends up doing the legwork, the thing is going to be a billion dollars overbudget and probably take an additional 10 years, knowing how stuff happens here.

Sorry, I've still got the taste of the BER in my mouth, here. :P

Re: W-H-I-Y-L I pity the fools that diss it.
Again, BER turned out much better than the Libs would have you believe, particularly here in WA where there was very little of the kind of rorting that we saw in other states. And it was a big spend, but don't forget that it was designed to be a big spend to stimulate the economy. I'm not a blind labor supporter (voted for barnett at the last state election, probably will again), and the federal party has made some legitimately bad decisions (pussing out vs. the japanese in antarctica, backing away from the carbon price scheme when they had public support, and now ****ing up the second attempt, the home insulation ****ups, the ridiculous first draft of the mining tax and equally ridiculous (for entirely different reasons) second version etc. etc.). But as a whole, I've been happy with the last three odd years - certainly more happy than I suspect I  would have been with the coalition on top.

Re: W-H-I-Y-L I pity the fools that diss it.
Oh yeah, I have a bit of a bone to pick with the BER - moreso over how my school ended up spending the money. We already had an indoor sports centre...so we built another one.

As you do.

Anyway, yeah, I agree, WA didn't get too ****ed over by the BER, by and large (compared to that canteen over in Victoria, I think it was, that was $120,000 a square metre). Ultimately, you're right, the BER did what it was meant to. I'm not sure we would've got the bigger spending that we needed if the Liberals were in, although I would've really liked Turnbull to stay on.

Although these days, we may as well just vote the Greens into the lower house, since they seem to be calling the shots down there anyway.

Wow, you believe Tony Abbott. We should've voted in the coalition and had One Nation calling the shots instead, or at least whatever policies they post on their website.
