Well most of the ALP seemed worried too, judging by their actions last week...

My comment about the greens running the show was tongue-in-cheek, by the way. It seemed like the right time of week to make jokes about what most of the right-wing WA news networks (i.e. all of them) have been playing at lately.

Yeah, news here kinda sucks. ABC is solid though, generally. I get most of my news either from ABC radio for local stuff or the BBC world service for international, tends to be balanced.

I should probably start doing that, actually. Atm I rely on The Australian, simply because the website's set out rather nicely and stuff is easier to find. Downside being that every political article under the sun is criticizing Gillard before she even wakes up in the morning.

How the heck did a virus get in my Lucasarts games files?  I haven't played those in ages.  Ah well, at least AVG caught it before it did anything.

First dissection? How'd you find it? I remember my first dissection squicked the hell out of me, but you get used to it.

(I'm a zoology student, dissection is a very potent tool in my arsenal, so I get taught quite a lot and have to do quite a few)

Could have been a false detection. I've been getting that a lot lately with older games in particular. Dune 2000 kept telling me it had a virus in it during install, and that was off the original discs....

I just got a new needle for my turntable, and am now listening to my (personalized) autographed 45 single of 'Ain't Nobodies' Business (If I Do)' on vinyl while I wait for the latest scp checkout to finish compiling...

What decade is it, anyway?

As i look over at my Akai AP-81 i resurrected from a value village........ We live in a decade where the turntable is attempting to make a comeback. and I couldn't be happier lol. And now to go toss on a record..... hmmm...... Rush, Phil Collins, or Lighthouse? or maybe Supertramp..... Also reminds me, i need to look for a better copy of the Nat King Cole live album.......

And I'm 19. In a Bachelor's of Computing. How's that for irony?

Had historic weapons class tonight, continuing with the Italian Longsword.  We focussed on the middle guards tonight.  One of them, Posta Breve, allows you coil up pretty tightly for some particularly violent parries setting up for your riposte.  Since I am more use to the German tradition it is pretty odd for me  considering there are many slight differences but it is a cool system.

i sliced up my thumb something brutal trying to fix my ipod. bought a replacement lcd off of ebay for $6.99. it came with a couple little plastic prybar tools and no instructions. after watching tutorials where people who know what the **** theyre doing make the process look easy, i decide to try it. so when you apply some force and the edge of the plastic tool slices through the back side of your thumb, cutting a deep gash from nail to knuckle (which hurts like a mother ****er), you know theyre just showing off. needless to say i managed to open the peice of crap and managed to do the repair without breaking something else, and now that bar of damaged pixels that used to go across the screen is gone. i figure when this ****er finally dies, il try one of those open source mp3 player kits that anti-closed-source types have formulated.

I'm in High School, so it was very rudimentary. Even so it was very fascinating for to see for myself how complicated life is though. Seeing the frogs heart beat outside it's body is probably something I'll always remember. I know how it happens, but there's still that feeling awe lurking in the back of my mind.
