Last class of the month is interpretation night at Kendo when we actually practice Kenjutsu concepts with bokken which is always fun. Not the monster physical workout regular Kendo is but I always find sword the killing art a magnificent thing.
We went and saw Sucker Punch afterward. Overall pretty ho hum, the first two "Dream Sequences" the first involving the fight with the Samurai golems at the temple and the raid on the DKoK esq German steam punk zombie trench where both visually arresting and pretty awesome. The other two sequences were kinda cool, but not quite as strong and a bit more messy action wise. The story was a mess as well, the setup was promising and it tried to put on airs as being multi layered and thoughtful but about third of the way through I was pretty much zoning out and waiting for it to wrap up.
