There was no appropriate point in the conversation to say it. You can't exactly go from talking about the final episode of Sherlock and suddenly say "I'm not gay, just so you know."
By simply using a few statements and an exclamation on how my best friend's older sister is a milf, I made the same point without embarrassing him or making it more awkward than it already was.

Story alert! Coming out yet another story! A fantasy one! (About time) It is a fusion of Dragon Age Origins and Elder Scrolls. Once I got something promising, I'll post it.

there's really no appropriate point to hit on a guy you don't know is gay either. you can say it without sounding like a dick. might be awkward, but since you barely know the guy would that really matter that much?

And also considering that you (understandably) wanted to get rid of him as quickly as possible, especially given the weird circumstances in which he showed up at your door.

I also would have suggested being direct, something like "You know I'm straight, right?" assuming that you really thought he was coming on to you.

This reminded me of an idea to make a story based on my Skyrim exploits. A little dialogue change here and there, but essentially describing to the letter exactly what I did
That could get to be one helluva long book...

with any luck i might be able to patch up my computer.

now the only issue is are the burned out pins the cause of the intermittent crashes or a symptom of something drawing too much power? shining my torch over the mobo side of the connection there looks to be some light staining on the plastic but the metal components look fine, so I am wondering if the connections between the wire and the pins came loose within those sleeves making this a cheep fix to replace the PSU.

Pins 1, 2, & 13 are all +3.3V. The fact that those pinned burned means you should probably just go with a new setup entirely.

tell me about it Bob-san but that's money I cant spare atm

so it will have to be a new PSU and hope it all holds together for a little while longer. in the mean time i have the rig on a 550w server PSU i have borrowed from my dad to see if it fixes things for the time being then in a few days will be running down the road to grab a budget unit from the local PC shop

Spilled a cup of mint tea on the extension cord that I plugged EVERY electronic doodad in my room into, not too long ago tonight. The house isn't on fire and my PC survived unharmed, but my quilt and floor are now soaked in mint.
