Dammit!

I just broke up with the girlfriend. She was a year younger and we were arguing a bit over the consequences of me being at University and her finishing Year 12 an basically decided that in light of a few things that have happened, and in addition to the odd circumstances of one of us being in school and the other uni-ing it that it was best to break up. Was an excellent 9 months.

Do not regret a thing.

I meant that after the results of that discussion that it was basically agreed upon that it would be nigh on impossible to keep it going with the new circumstances. But yes, exactly what Dekker said. Do you think I'm going to give some people on the internet a full essay and a half on the dynamic of my relationship? (Although it's rather ironic that I've said that in a thread where the goings on of our lives are the go). If seeing each other only once a week was what two people would break up over after being together for three quarters of a year, then that was either a massively uneventful 9 months or host to a bunch of stuff that I'm not willing to share.

A year ago today, my best friend decided we couldn't be friends anymore (the reasons are complicated). His birthday was a few weeks ago, so I sent him a "happy birthday" message then. He replied a couple weeks later and said thanks, he's not really ready to talk again but hopes I'm doing well. I guess that suggests I might hear from him again someday, but for all practical purposes, he's gone. So it goes.
