Sidenote: This is more directed at Black Wolf - It also helps in establishing a base line, and saying "one of the better ones" was in hindsight, the wrong comment to make. Will have to watch out for that in later instances

Took part in "Run For Your Lives" in both a running and zombie roles yesterday.  Quite a bit of fun doing both, after heavy rains all week the course was as muddy as all a First World War trench.

I'd curse goober, but at this point I think the classics policy is obviously self-defeating; waiting a few months after it's over to move the thread means nobody will remember the thread, and nothing will get moved.

Indeed.  Honestly, the policy to wait a certain amount of months makes little sense anyway, as if the thread is in contention for a place in the Classics, it's not going to get much better, and it's arguably not going to get much worse unless it turns into people arguing about the Classics policy.  Which it usually does.

The power socket on my laptop is starting to break down, just last night I discovered that I have to "jiggle it just right" in order to make a good contact and keep the laptop powered.

This is a particularly bad thing, since my laptop is my primary work computer... and the battery it came with is not suited for durations longer than 45 minutes or so.

Might crack her open later this week and take a look at it. Might be able to order a replacement socket online and solder it right in.

That happened to me a few years ago.  I could only get it to work with parts from another motherboard.  I'm not even really sure why it stopped working.
