How is it that every time, every time I manage to save up more than a grand with my meagre pay rate, something happens that requires me to spend it all? This time, it seems like my car's dying. Dammit, I'm 19 and looks like I'm soon to be on my third car. I hate spending money.
What kind of cars where your last 3?
Last 2. Not on my third one yet. My first was a 1993 Mazda MX-6. I loved that thing. Drove beautifully, looked impressive, never had a problem with it, and came into existence in the same year I did... unfortunately the guy that crashed into it tore off the back bumper, the back lights and damaged the chassis. The insurance company wouldn't repair it, so it was a write off. At least we got good money out of the payout.
My second (and current, though it appears it won't be for long) is a 1998 Toyota Corolla. Meh. It's dual fuel, running on both LPG and petrol (you guys call it gas, if memory serves), which means it is incredibly cheap to run. Pretty much the only reason I'll be sad to see it go is that it'll be more cash out of my pocket to keep whatever replacement I get filled up. It's stalling when I clutch in, overheating if I drive for longer than about half an hour... that sort of thing. We're going to be replacing the thermostat on the weekend to see if that's the problem, but I'm going to start looking out for something to replace it with. Not sure how I'm even going to sell this thing to anyone.
