Yeah, it's like claiming that there are more than three Indiana Jones movies.

Along those lines, it's really too bad they never made a sequel to The Matrix.  I would have liked to see that plot continued.

Babies are annoying.

In other news, I just installed the AMD APP SDK, i.e. the thing I need in order to do OpenCL development for my game.

Does anyone have any experience with OpenCL? Either developing with it, or using a program which includes it? Can it fall back to a software implementation, or will I have to write my own fallback procedure?

I've used Blender's unstable OpenCL Cycles Renderer a bit. It did some great stuff, but, like I said, it's still an unstable implementation. The way that program's set up, it defaults to the normal software cpu-renderer setting, and you have to manually point it at your amd card's openCL implementation. I can vouch for the 'it-goes-faster'ness of it but that's about it.

Staff Party was ****ing awesome
Good 'ol Casino night going at the restaurant itself, won myself a few at Texas Hold Em, but lost it to Blackjack.
Glenfiddich is an excellent single malt, I do recommend it to those who enjoy a nice sweet flavour (at least, when I took my first sips, that's what I got. Sweetness)

But that's not the best part

Let's just say that server I had beers with a week ago... well...
We spent a lot of this night together
I don't know what I did
But I was successful for once in my god damned life
It's a great feeling

If people get pictures up, I'll be sure to grab a few because I look damned snazzy in a suit

EDIT: Was also involved in a fight outside the club/bar
Not as a participant, but as a "You're an idiot *coworker* if you think taking on three guys is a good idea"
...

He threw the first punch anyhow and well... yeah. You can guess what happened from then on
Meanwhile, I'm trying my best to remain inbetween the fighting parties in order to reduce the amount of mutilation *coworker* would have received

Didn't last long, resulting in the party of three being controlled with *coworker* pissed off, still wanting to fight, with a bloody face.

Oh alcohol. Always bringing out the more prominent traits of people
(Funny thing, *coworker* had a nice list of charges against him in another province. Club security guy was telling me I shouldn't defend the guy. I told him he was absolutely right, but that it won't stop me from at least trying to stop an idiot from getting himself killed)

It's interesting hearing you mention Glenfiddich as something for people to look out for, when it's one of the most common whisky's here. But then, this is Scotland, where it's made and all

There are two places I want to go
Scotland (for the fact it's scotch central) and Chernobyl (because it's simply the most fascinating place for me)

But yeah, I'm not really surprised it'd be one of the more common ones. It's not really expensive, and it tastes well enough for what you pay

Glendronach is great too, but the kicker is the founder shares (a variation) of my last name.

And, as mentioned earlier. Pictures

Not a whisky drinker myself, but my grandfather is quite fond of Talisker, although it is by no means his favourite. He quite likes his peaty Whisky, a taste shared by my oldest sister, so it goes down quite well. It's expensive though, so... (I think, as I say, it's not something I often look at unless I'm buying gifts)

Re: W-H-I-Y-L It's over 1000!!!!! (pages)
Okay so I'm writing a story that takes place in the future (by 20 minutes, but in space!) with several colonies of Airtha spread out across the Orion-Cygnus Arm and it's about ideologies and the terrible power of mostly scientifically accurate advanced and natural weapons.

So the Cold War IN SPAAACE!

Now, I don't plan to limit the Mythologies I use to name planets or stars, so if there is a particular mythological name (can be a proper name or the name of a place, example: Zalmoxis' Wrath for a system filled with uninhabitable planets) that you'd like me to use, feel free to tell me.

I will be making a proper thread for this in the appropriate forum once it's prologue is done.

Heh, speaking of stories, still working on the sequel to the one that I posted recently. Just gotta figure out how to get past the blasted prologue (Which is done), need the body of the story.

I also want to avoid the usual Earth invading cliches, and so on. Ahh, this is going to be a tough one.

*Challenge Accepted* ;)
A small voice in my head tells me they are have followed us here in the Milky Way. They follow us until we are dead at their feet. We are nomands of the stars, no longer the race that was loved by the Great Elders. My name is Kyral and this is my story of survival.

There is no sanctuary for us, in this Universe. We will fight the Terror for one last time on this Shining World. May the Transcendent judge us kindly in the Life Stream.

Re: W-H-I-Y-L It's over 1000!!!!! (pages)
Went to talk to the assholes on #gamedev IRC, which has apparently been disowned by gamedev.net ... most helpful person there said he couldn't think of any way to parallelize the task I want to parallelize. Bummer.

But then Australian doofus who doesn't like FS2 finds me a link to some 6-year-old pdf by nVidia that says they can do it, and the way it hints at (it was just a pdf of a powerpoint, supposedly there would have been more details somewhere else) is sort of like something I was already considering before asking teh Internets.

But now I know it's possible :D

Also apparently OpenGL 4.3 has "compute shaders" ... but there aren't drivers for it yet. Anyway I reckon if I set it up to work with OpenCL, it will probably be 90% of the way to working with GL 4.3 anyway.

I'll be lucky if I made a D on that chemistry exam today. Tired...... I feel like I need a 30 hour day to get everything done that I need to get done in a day (and do it well).

Pretty much banned from #Hard-Light until I watch the Matrix. When will I have time?

Hnnng! I got tired all the way down in my myocytes.... And my dendrites! and my axons too! But those last two primarily come from Adderall burn-out.
