That's actually paneling. Apparently the photographer was trying to limit the subject of the photograph to just the pianist (presumably deathfun himself) by hiding behind a corner.

good god this is ****ing terrible. emotions blow. i'm ****ing bawling harder than my damn 2 year old nephew at nap time. worst part is the finishing blow hasn't even landed yet.

A US Navy recruiter (who was a nuclear ET for the last 15 years) visited my brother's high school a couple weeks ago. Apparently, the US Navy is in dire need of nuclear engineers who actually know the difference between a proton and a positron. I'm going to see if I can talk to him on Wednesday or Thursday about what options I'd have for education and commissioning. If they'll pay for me to go to college full-time and guarantee me a nuclear-related job as a commissioned officer, I think I'll go for it.

i went a few steps down the NUPOC recruitment path and currently work for the navy as a nuc engineer (civilian). i'd be happy to tell you anything i know. feel free to PM me.

So, this is my first ever post in this thread.
This year, for the first time in 5 years, I will go to a new year's eve party !

What's changed in my life ? I don't know. I like to party, but I don't like special occasions (Birthdays, including mine, Bastille Day, Christmas, New Year's eve, Diwali, Aïd... you name it). I used to make sure to always be on the move (I like the bar in high speed trains) on 31/12, and celebrate with a drink, maybe on webcam with a close friend living far away.

What about you, people ?

I'll be working at a NYE party. :/

(I work at the hotel part of a hotel/casino. NYE is always our busiest night. No one gets that day off, and I work graveyard shift.)

Had planned to spend NYE this year doing exactly what I did last year - drinking on the beach, alternating across a sandbar between a nice warm river and the sea, then falling asleep listening to the waves. Probably my best NYE ever, but everyone who was keen to repeat it has pulled out, so I'm not sure what I'm up to this year.

For the record, the holiday season in the southern hemisphere rules.
