So take the suspension like a man, and cool off while the admins figure out what to do with you. If they let you back on then you better damn well thank them.

Re: W-H-I-Y-L It's over <number goes here> (posts)
My vision has become blurry over the last month to the point that I have trouble reading even large text and can't safely drive. :( Seems to be a rare side effect of a medication. (The great thing about rare side effects is that they obviously happen to someone and little is known about them because they're rare.) Looks like it'll likely get better on its own, but it could take a month or more. It's been over a week and no improvement yet. Needless to say, it brings my work for HLP grinding to a halt.

(And no, it's not from spending too much time watching TV or playing games or what have you. I've been getting that a lot and it got old fast.)

The blurring is now so bad that I can't read books or magazines anymore, and I can't read signs from more than a foot or two away.

This is kind of terrifying. :shaking:

It's been going so long now that I can hardly remember what it was like to see clearly. :blah:

Luckily, my doctor's referral went through and the head of the neuro-ophthalmology department at UCSF (top-ranked medical school) wants to see me tomorrow. If someone like that wants to see you right away, that means you are a very interesting case.

The funny thing is that I can see most things fine or maybe with a a slight blur for distant objects. It's details like text (especially computer screens) and for some reason traffic lights that are problematic.

Oh... :sigh:

I wonder if you can even read this. Hopefully you'll recover, after all, they gave you a month timeline, so maybe you'll recover after that medication is out of your system. For what it's worth, I have you up in my top bracket of "nice people" on HLP, even though we've never/barely spoken, so I'll be sad if this is the end for you. :(

I have to go soon though. Just letting you know in case you're wanting to talk, I'm not ignoring you.

My vision has been like that since I was in primary school, but that's just regular short-sightedness. I wear contacts now to fix it, but I hope your thing improves on its own.

CTRL+scroll wheel zooms the page

I had something similar several years back, when I was still very young. It basically involved that I had enormous difficulty focusing my eyes, simply because they were, apperently, just tired. This was after three months of being heavily interested in optical illusion books, though :P. I hope it's just some of that on a larger scale, and not something pernament 0_o.

Re: W-H-I-Y-L It's over <number goes here> (posts)
@z64555: No, it's a permanent ban. Appeal is possible, but waiting it out is not (and I don't think my appeal has much chance of success). And additional information has come to light indicating they're on a "banning spree"; in a YouTube video I watched of someone playing on the server, an alert came up saying 13 people had been banned for the same reason ("bad fellowship") in the past 30 minutes, and to be respectful to other players. It's just a shame I didn't get the memo they were upping their standards/enforcement in time.

Speaking of "vision": as I was heading out to get pizza and groceries yesterday, I noticed something was wrong with my vision. I stopped the car in the driveway, and it took me a few seconds to figure out what was up: the right lens of my glasses had fallen out. Huh. Tried to fix it when I got home from the outing, using a screw taken from a pair of dad's old glasses that he didn't care about anymore... kinda works, but it won't be as good.

My FPS development: I reconverted the soldier dood model (based on the most up-to-date WIP version). I didn't do a very good job of skinning it this time, and it doesn't actually help much with one of the big issues I expected it to resolve: being able to tell which side of the upper arm bone I'm looking at. Collision shapes are updated, and some joints have had their positions and rotation limits changed, but now DoodPoseyTool seems to be fighting me even more than it used to. Bleh :blah:
