Just had a tooth out that was the remains of a Crown which fell off some time ago. it was so deep the gum had to be cut.

I am now biting down on a bit a gauze that is making me gag to help seal the stitches, and feel really, really ****e...

I had a wisdom out three weeks ago. Stitches?? I just got him to cauterise it.

Pack from NY received! It took quite some time, my order dates back to 1/6 and delivery should've taken 4-6 days... it's been two weeks!

Also, the scale model of an airplane that I got is broken.

Heh, to be he honest I've had so much dental work in my life (had an Osteotomy on my jaw in my 20's) that this wouldn't even normally bother me, but this one, I must admit, was as stubborn as an unwelcome relative and the dentist had to go in from the side instead of the top.

They involve the optic nerves, either inflammation of them (optic neuritis) or damage to them (optic neuropathy). They both have a variety of possible causes and, depending on the cause, may or may not be temporary/treatable. Among the causes in the second group is a genetic one (Leber's hereditary), which is unlikely because no one in the family has it, but DNA test results will be in next week regardless.

That is also all of the time I'm going to spend on the Internet reading about this. I'd much rather talk to the doctor (which I'm doing on Wednesday) than sit at my computer and speculate.

In similar news, one of my friends is suffering from chronic, crippling pains in the gut. After extensive research, the docs found... nothing. She now has been todl to just learn to live with it, which is quite sobering.

Dear God.... I would have punched that Doctor in the gut and then told them to learn to live with it....

Does she get the pain all the time or is it sporadic?

To be fair I think he's providing a synopsis of the situation, not that they literally slid on some shades and told her to deal with it.

I seriously hope not, though I do remember once a Doctor asking my partner why she had not had children yet and saying that her 'biological clock was ticking', so I have experienced some really dumb comments by professionals in the past.

Well, after many months and much frustration, I have finally been able to replace my toaster of a computer with a slightly less rusty toaster. Oh God... now I just need to catch up on what I've missed.

Well I am. My sinuses can't stand whatever crap that keeps blowing in from each cold front. I remember seeing an article about a Tabasco company somewhere that had a bunch of complaints against it for air pollution, and I'm wondering if it might be a bit of that what's getting me.
