freshly oiled laptop fan no longer makes grinding noises and i don't have to beat the **** out of the thing to get it to post.  pain in the ass to disassemble though.  also, while i was digging around it occurred to me to upgrade the CPU since i can't find a new laptop that doesn't suck to get more mileage out of this one.  with maxed out RAM, a hybrid drive, and soon to be almost maxed out CPU ($45 vs. either $165 or shady chinese/japanese distributor that may or may not be genuine), this should get me by until laptop manufacturers get their heads out of their asses.  and maybe next windows release, but based on other thread i'd better think about snagging the most tolerable win7 one available now or grab a copy to do a fresh install while they are still available.

i just had a bad experience with os.execute() see i was working on a bunch of bugs in my data graphing script that collects data from an imu connected to an arduino, and then graphs it out in an opengl canvas. its one of those linear algebra problems that ive long since figured out that there is no getting my head around it, i just have to try every possible combination of maths till it works. needless to say i got tired of tabbing through my lua files so that i could run the main wlua file (which is needed for gui applications). so in the file i was working on i scrolled down to the bottom and added this code:

i hit that run button hoping that my script file (which contains nothing but my graphing "class") will run, then get to that thing at the bottom and launch the actual app so i can remove two mouse clicks from my work flow. it seems obvious now that this doesnt work. that damn runthings variable gets lost somewhere (right at the end of the file when it launches a new interpreter instance), and i end up getting a runaway loop of my lua script launching new instances of itself. ive *****ed about lua's memory hoggyness before, and it didnt take long for the system to eat every scrap of system memory available. i was scrambling trying to kill them before the machine locked up, i managed to force a reboot. this is a sure sign that ive had enough programming for one day, time for sleep actual (though knowing me im going to reboot my system 50 times trying to pass the runthings variable to the new instance). im actually convinced that most viruses during the 90s where the hacker's failed attempts at programming something useful.

1 day before i get my build money and newegg runs out of my case. since all my parts were selected to fit in that case it makes it twice as infuriating. now im scrambling looking for alternatives. they have a large version of the same, but it is too deep to fit desk hole. then i found a nice thermaltake that is too tall to fit deskhole. found a fractal that looks nice but is $80+ (and i have a fractal, its too loud). burn all the things.

first of all i wouldn't call it a work area, its more for watching porn and looking at lolcats. second of all the desk is a peice of ****. third, its more of a cable management issue. cables run through an area where kitten likes to sleep, this tempts said kitten to chew on wires and generally be a dick. fourth of all, amazon had one for only 4 bucks more, so desk hole is getting plugged, im tired of cats crawling in there and vomiting.

Because Intel's naming convention is stupid, the aforementioned CPU I purchased is in fact NOT compatible with my laptop (T7600 is, T7500 is what I bought because 1/3 price for 2.2 vs 2.33 ghz).  I discovered this and sent a cancellation request at literally the exact same minute I received the shipment notification email.  So now I probably get to pay return shipping and a restock fee, if I can return it at all.  They haven't replied yet.

my plans for a modest low power gaming box managed to turn into a 4 ghz powerhouse crammed into a tiny mini itx case. video card is still in the moderate range but its not like i ever play any tripple a titles. oldies and indie games are pretty much it. went with a higher capacity, slower ssd instead of the samsung 840 evo i was planning on. the mobo that i really liked, got swapped out by an asrock that supports oc ram. this allowed me to bump my memory up to 2400 (i really didnt want another 1600 build). i would have been deadset in not getting another asrock, had i not noticed that my old asrock motherboard was still chugging along nicely in moms old i5 rig. also it had a qvl for memory, where the gigabyte didnt seem to, so i was able to match up with memory that the board supports.

Depends on the copywrite laws of that nation, I guess. Some items ownership has been passed down through families or via inheritance. In the case of museums, I think their ownership titles are on the gift basis.

Copywriting is there to protect an author's work from being claimed as the work of another author. Granted, it has a recent stigma from companies abusing copywrite/intellectual property laws to get monies...

Additionally, copyright can apply to a specific publication of a work where the original is in the public domain, e.g. specific typesettings of musical scores by Bach or Beethoven, or a translation of Newton's Principia.
