I use an optical mouse and keyboard.  It's not THAT bad.  I just wish we could boost the mouse sensitivity even higher in the game.  I don't like turning it up in Windows to the leves which would be perfect for FS2.

Turn it up as far as you can in Windows... after you get used to it, it makes for blazing fast operations, if you know exactly what you're doing.  You can snap across the screen in the time it takes you to blink.  (I mean in Windows, for example, closing an app and then hitting the Start button.

Unless you're in a Ulysses.  Then you want yaw.

I play with mouse, too, but I only use it for primary (left mouse) and secondary (right mouse) weapons and targeting (middle mouse).

Same same. 'Cept my targeting. My controls are pretty much set up they way the are in MechWarrior.

I've got a Logi**** force 3d (minus force feedback - if you hear a loud PING you will never feel a thing through your joystick again) that came with fs2 colossus and it is about ten times more responsive than my mouse.

This isn't mouse versus joystick thread. Just asking for a control scheme to go along with mouse control. While mouse control may not be so responsive. That's why you turn up the sensitivity, youcan do the same thing with joysticks.

However, for those who don't can't use joysticks so good. The mouse is an easy way to get started playing fs and is great for keeping your crosshairs on your target very easily. It takes a lot more skill and experience to keep your cross hairs on your target with a joystick. More people around here need to get a gamepad or joystick and just start playing fs with it and bite the bullet. The more you use it, the better you'll get. That's what i've been doing and have been getting much better

you have three mouses/mice?! I have only got one. And i don't use a joystick, i can't imagine using a joystick for FS2, only a mouse. Keyboard for making fast turns. And yes, i have a lot of very annoying pitch contests with other fighters that's really annoying  (i never use an ulleysus, usually an ares, Ursa, or modded craft). I just hit the brakes and try hitting the other guy like a turret would, or afterburn away turn, and fire 'space' 'ctrl'

He means, left mouse button, right mouse button and middle mouse button. Its basically the default set up for FS2.
