Finished it last night. It was amazing, wonderful, fantastic. Nearly the whole way through, I didn't feel quite satisfied, like something was off, or they would leave things unanswered. But then with the last boss fight and the last round of cutscenes, everything was cleared up, tied together, and made nearly perfect. Highly, highly recommended to all MGS fans.

Well, I don't think any game is a ten. That said, this certainly isn't without it's flaws, but it was a heck of a ride and a great end to the MGS saga.

Look, if you dislike MGS, there's not much different here that'll make you start liking it; it's a complete fanwank.
If you do like MGS though, you'll shat enough bricks to build your own city.

ALL of the SOLID games are for the Playstations exclusively (be it a PS1, 2 or 3)

I played through it on the standard difficulty in just 20 hours!  so freaking good!  i especially like ACT 4, all in all if you like mgs, you'll die of awesomeness, if you weren't a fan, the play is much more forgiving then in past games.  I want to try and do more sneaking the next play through.

More forgiving gameplay? I don't like the sound of that. Any MGS game should be hard once the intro pieces are done. Although Meryl coming back is enough to get me to buy a PS3. . . .eventually. Solidus is the best son of liberty by far, <hope>i don't suppose he made it somehow? </hope>

well more forgiving in the sense that the controls do what you want them to do, and in a fairly straight forward manner.  not so forgiving when trying to sneak past squads of pmcs that can see, hear, or even smell you coming.  trust me, its still the mgs we love, just with more behaved controls so the nooobs won't be like..."why isn't snake doing what i want...snake?  Snake!   SNNNNNAAAAAAKKKKKKKEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! **** this."

The styles good but it feels a little like snake eater to me. . .(i don't own it, just been playing round my cousins)

Now if only they would release a cheaper PS3 model that ran cool and has bacwards compatibility I would get one and MGS4 would be the first game I get for it. The MGS4 tv commercial is taunting me.
