One time I was playing and I used cheats cause I was bored. I looked up the cheats again to see if there were any I missed. Then i dicovered the change weapon cheat. So I armed myself with a Flak Canon, but when I fired, I ended up shooting myself. I also tryed using beams, and they just come out as mini laser blasts... WTF?

Has this happened to anyone else?

That happens in Retail, but with the SCP the flak and beams behave as they would on a turret.

Shivan Super Lasers are blobs. They'll work regardless.

If you use the FSPort, you can use a beam version of the SSL... but just be sure you`re in 3rd person mode and well zoomed out while using any sort of beam on your fighter. The light... it burns!

I remember the first time I fired a beam from my fighter ... it was at midnight, and my laptop was the only light source around, and I went and fired the BFRed.

Heres a lesson: Don't fire beams during midnight. Be considerate of others.

I used those cheats and shooted some of the beams, but none of them seemed to be efective (not damaging ships) only the BFred did damage..
does it make sense? or is it a bug... anyway I wasn't planning on using those.

... Did you hit ? No offense meant, but when you fire those beams, you tend to go blind.

Sometimes anti-cap beam damage isn't calculated on fighters if you just slash around wildly after firing.
