Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic
You know what would be awesome? Interactive MMO for exchange. The reason why games like Cybernations or Nationstates (2) or Erepublik tend to be popular is because players control the gameworld. In Cybernations everyone is oppressed by NPO and it was fought against three times, now it`s long enemies are weak and almost non-excistant. Would it be cool when The Old Republic comes, we let the war broke out as players and when the next generation comes in in few months, we are already negotiating new peace in which like year later Republic would be exiled to Outer Rim and new players would start there, building towards their own interactive Republic. Each player fights and all players as a side negotiate or ignite war for the whole cause of the Republic or the Sith (and Bioware would make sure that no side would win the ultimate victory). I mean, over 4 years of Cold War back in Azeroth is just... boring.

Crap.

Kotor MMO is bad news, even worse when its Bioware doing it. Way to screw up my day. RPG's get another kick in the balls.
Yeah, I know you were waiting for a very nice sig, in which I was quoting some very famous scientist or philosopher... guess what?!? I wont indulge you...

Why, you ask? What, do I look like a Shivan to you?!?

What the hell is wrong with MMO Bioware? Bioware is a good, Hero Engine is not bad, SW KOTOR is not bad.

What is the big deal?

MMORPG's innate evil can easily counter all those good aspects poured into the making of each and any of them... :ick:

Unless you like MMORPGs, there's very little chance you will like a MMORPG... It's as simple as that. Also, obvious statement is obvious.
There are three things that last forever: Abort, Retry, Fail - and the greatest of these is Fail.

I like MMORPGs; I just don't like most of the people playing them nor any of the currently released MMOs.

I do want to see what they end up doing with Dragon Age.

Dragon age isn't a MMORPG.
It's single-player only. Think Baldurs Gate 2.....

Dragon Age is single player; The Old Republic is an MMO. However, Dragon Age was mentioned in the article with an actual release date and I am interested in it too.

The pics from the game don't look bad.
I played both Kotor games, and it would have been way better imo, if they would work on a Single player RPG with a Multiplayer part.

As my odds of bombarding your planet with my ImpStar Deuce are low, the MMO holds no interest for me.

I'm pretty sure Mara's got her head screwed on straighter than Bastilla.

Mara Jade, simply because she is a character from a book.  So long as you fit the framework Zhan laid out she can be as hot a red head as you imagination allows.  Thats the beauty of literature its what you make of it :P

Yea, but books don't show or tell you about Mara Jade wearing a slave costume.

For all her clothing was described in some places, she might well be. For that matter, she might like that sort of clothing, whereas Bastilla is clearly way the hell too stuck up to let down her hair that much.
