Re: *drool* The Epic Journey BSG 4.5
Oh yes. I thought so.

As to number 5 ID, well, my Random answer is Boxy - who we havent seen since early S1 (unless you count the deleted scenes - then late S1)

THere is the theory that #5 is/was Joseph Adama - meaning that Bill, Zak and Lee are all human/cylon hybrids. The major hole in that theory is that the Cylon detector would pick them up. But even that has its flaws:

1) AFIK, comander Adama never had his detector test completed on screen. and  Lee's wasnt even mentioned.
2) It was never mentioned if the detector could pick up on Cylon/Human hybrids

Of course, there is the entire possibility that the fifth is Tigh and Caprica Six's child...

Actually, RDM says he's put enough clues into episodes as to the Final Cylon's ID. Of course he never mentioned where to start looking. So that means the clues could be hidden in plain sight.

I mean AFIK, the Final Five subplot began in S3 - but for all we know, he may have had it planned from the beginning and been leaving clues as far back as S1.

---
And dont forget the entire possibility that Earth was the original cradle of humanity and they moved from earth to Kobol.

I mean each Relic they find is older:
Kobol Ruins - 2000 years old
Lion's Head Beacon - 3000 years old
Temple of the Five - 4000 years old

Oh, I see of had my order wrong.  :p

I still don't see those theories adding up with all of the evidence.  It has to be someone more obvious like Roslin or Baltar.  I'm puzzled though at a comment slip made about the final five by RDM saying that the FF isn't in the last supper picture.  Maybe he made a mistake and took it out in clue number 6 http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/youwillknowthetruth/index.php?pageid=70

I noticed this and I think it's very compelling evidence that Earth is the original birthplace of mankind.

Not only that but RDM says that the language they speak is in fact Modern English not some 'Caprican.'  He also states the fact that they wear ties and their culture is so similar to Earth is that there is a connection.

Re: *drool* The Epic Journey BSG 4.5
Latest webisode is up. All superb, though I did have one question.

In the scene with Tigh and Hoshi, Hoshi says the missing Raptor has been gone for 'over two days now'. When we cut back to the Raptor -- presumably mere minutes after the misjump -- they only have twenty hours of air left.

Assuming that the Tigh/Hoshi scene was 'in the future' as compared to the scenes on the Raptor, that means some people on the Raptor will have to die if they're going to last two days.

I heard from an inside source that the final cylon will be a new character called Dr Z.

Its not a new character.  That has been stressed by Ron countless times.  :)

Unless he was lying.

Good God, I hope not!

That's a reference to the original series, jdjtcagle.

I could of swore (I can't check right now) that he said it wasn't anybody we didn't know.  That the FF has been with us from the beginning and is not some random guy in the corner from season 1.  Again I can't check.

He was kidding. Moore didn't say that it'd be anyone named Doctor Zee.

He probably did say that it wasn't somebody we didn't know. I'm still guessing it's Zak Adama.

That has to be BS. If any reference to a character that never existed from the series that never happend comes along the fans'll crusify RD.

Re: *drool* The Epic Journey BSG 4.5
And dont forget the entire possibility that Earth was the original cradle of humanity and they moved from earth to Kobol.

I don't see how they could say anything else without denying over 150 years of scientific discoveries and research into the human past. That would turn BSG from Science Fiction into just fiction (insofar that it isn't already)

imho bsg history probably went a bit like this:

1. humans leave earth and colonise Kobol (and maybe other places)
2. humans on Kobol create scientient machines. Basically the first "Cylons". Something happens that leads to a massive upheaval on Kobol and the departure of the 13 tribes. 12 to the new colonies, 1 back to Earth. But whatever the disruption was you can be sure that the "Cylons" have something to do with it and that the difference between the two groups is their relation towards these artificial humans.
3. the 12 colonies settled, somehow the Final 5 remain undetected in the populace. Either by virtue of being well hidden, or the relation of those colonists towards the artifical humans.
4. on the 12 colonies intelligent machines are created, the Cylons. This is the beginning of that part of the prophecy "what has happened before will happen again"
5. Cylons rebel, hybrid construction begins
6. BSG season 1 starts.

Now somehow those 5 old models have managed to set a rerun of history in motion, either by nudging the colonists to produce Cylons or by tampering with the Cylons themselves so that they'd eventually try to build hybrid models of their own. In the same vein it then becomes entirely possible that it were the socalled final 5 that wrote the book of Kobol in the first place.
An alternative possibility is that the 12 colonies are the Kobol Cylons, all hybrids, all imperfect, all mortal, which would explain why after 1000s of years they've fogotten about the 5 models that are actually immortal. But something in their collective memories-instincts gnaws at them. Something that leads them to produce Cylons in an attempt to put things right, but while trying to do so making all the (same?) mistakes the humans of Kobol did. The 13th tribe would then be Humans that went back to earth.

Not that it matters as we'll probably never know.
And didn't I see two other battlestars in the old teasers for season 4 (Hades and Titan?) Where are they?
It came from outer space! What? Dunno, but it's going back on the next flight!

This has been discussed on GW forums months ago.
The "teasers" with those Battlestars are fake. Created by fans, but well done.
