It is ugly as Hell...

But I think this is is something that might actually happen in the post-Capella PVE. Heck, it's cheaper than a Colossus, it uses existing designs and it's powerful -with a forward Vasudan beam configuration, that thing could be a match for a Sath.

Just for the practicality of the design, I'm giving you a thumbs-up, mate.

Still, if any modeler could take this and make the Hatties blend better into the hull, while still being recognizable, I'd give him/her two thumbs up.

I kinda hate these things with a passion.

With fighters it's K, since, you know, spare parts and all, but really, with capships, it's unfeasible, unrealistic, and, well, looks daft,,,,.

Seeing how a major part of the GTVA destroyer inventory was lost during the second conflict with the Shivans, along with the Colossus, I highly doubt any sane person would suggest to build another, cheaper (and thus worse) version of the Colossus.

Imo the GTVA would be focusing on rebuilding their destroyer inventory and designing newer and more effective destroyers, and of cause try to construct a Knossos portal to Earth.

Yeah.

I think the lesson learned at Capella was that big ships aren't as effective as a large fleet of more versatile smaller ones.

Yeah.

Not really. The Shivans had a Juggernaut Fleet. Those are big ships. And even though it may not look like it, they won the war.
Would you say the GTVA won the war if: They lost an entire system (or more than just Capella, I'm not sure now), they lost a big part of their fleet, including the Colossus.
The only reason we "win" is that we end the war, by stopping the Shivans from entering any further in our territory.
So, if the Shivans had big ships, and they won, big ships are more effective.
Potato!

Yes but you do realize that the Colossus took the alliance 20 years to build, right? There is no way that the GTVA could build even a quarter of the Juggernaut Fleet within any reasonable span of time. And in the unlikely event that they tried to do so, they would not have the resources to rebuilt their depleted Destroyer and Cruiser fleets, let alone build a second Knossos to Earth. Furthermore the Vasudan Juggernaut will be of lesser quality than the Colossus, given it's construction method, and what is the point of that really? Just asking...

Add to that the Vasudans didn't have the capacity to build a Juggernaut during the Zenith of their power during the war with the Terrans (same with the Terrans) so how do they suddenly have the means to do it (after a great part of their population was annihilated)? I doubt the Terrans would assist them as the OP already hints...

Must Crush Shivanism!

Took 20 years yes as that's based on the current technology at the time when the Collie was made. Having said that, technology gets improved, new ways to build something, new materials and usually that means better, faster ways to so the same thing. I think to mention anything about bigger ships are worthless is making a big mistake. As already mentioned, why would the Shivans do so in the first place? Just because we lost ONE big ship does not make the concept wrong. It means the concept needs to be refined and improved.
Same with the Battleships of the past. They made bigger ones with better protection, longer range, faster ships. Same with carriers and they are STILL getting bigger too.

In Blue Planet, we encountered the OMFG SJ Dante which makes a SJ Sath look like junior's ride. How are we gonna counter that? Go after it with a squadron of standard size Destroyers and cross your fingers? In my opinion, I think we need to balance these large Shivan ships as we have no idea if they even have something bigger waiting around the next dark corner to bushwhack the GTVA a good one.

Anyway, correct me if I'm wrong, I think this should be debated elsewhere as we are getting off topic?

Here is a in game shot of the Beast. Note, I changed the texturing some.

There is a fundamental difference between one big ship, and many.

God. That is the most ugly ****er I've seen in my life. Worse than the Sechat-Thor even.

A Sechat-Thor is an aten enlarged around 1000 times, with an enlarged sobek head slapped in front.

And no, I think this one looks much better, cause the Sechat Thor is freaking low poly for something its size. Especially if you could get the 3 attached Hatties to revolve around the central structure...along with all the turrets and the thrusters. That would be epic.

I'm sorry, I just have the most profound hatred of stuff like this. Sure it's fun but I hope I don't see it in any (serious) campaigns.

Take away to hatty arms, maybe add a couple more guns, and it would look better.  The hatties just hanging on to it take away from the effect a juggernaut can have.

Getting rid of the arms makes it look like two Hatshepsuts fused into a Sobek.
The arms make it look like five, and gives it a bit of trilateral radial symmetry. (I love that)

I've been unable to find any picture of the Sechat-Thor, only a few references with no images to the Sechat-Hor, which I believe might be the same ship....

Anyway, searching for other Vasudan ships I realized that, living aside the Hedetet (which is amazing!!), all other Vasudan Capitals sucks as much as this GVJ Khonsu itself...... is true that they are "unique" but I found that some of them are even uglier than this....(Het-Ka Tanen, etc...)

Haven't you find the same?

It might look better with better mapping. This way it's OBVIOUS that it's an enlarged Sobek in the middle, also because of a large difference in panel size (map tiling).

You're a wrongularity from which no right can escape!

Well, the illogical aspect of it aside* I just have to say that it would be much better if you couldn't tell that the ship was basically a bunch of FS2 ships glued together. I don't want to be rude saying this, but it's just lazy modeling... It might work for a concept, but it certainly needs to be modeled from the bottom up to be special.

*Without full Terran support there is just no way they could construct it so shortly after the second war with the Shivans, but nevermind!
