How many TCs(i.e. big mods featuring many new ships, weapons and such) within the FreeSpace Universe are currently in development and might be released very soon? I know about Inferno's mods and Earth Defense...but what about the others?

And it's not merely models. The ammount of modding, stuff and effort going into ASW make it a TC.

You're looking for things like Inferno, BWO, and BP, both of which take place within the Freespace Universe, but both of which feature many new ships as an integral part of the lineup.

A Total-Conversion is a standalone project. There can be standalone projects within the FS universe.

As far as I know BP doesn't use exclusive ships.

I was actually refering to dedicated projects featuring exclusive models, textures and music(like Inferno, TVWP and Earth Defense).

A total conversion is a mod of an existing game that (usually) replaces almost all of the artistic assets in the original game, and sometimes core aspects of gameplay, in some cases creating a game in a completely different genre from the original.

This is true! While we use plenty of standard Terran and Shivan Ships, much more will be new and especially for the Tiigran-Merisst navy which will be completely new. While we just released the Demo earlier to give fans a taste of what's to come, I can say it's only the tip of the iceberg of what's to come.

for my self a tc is a total conversion , totaly converted so i take that to mean i wont see any of the models or story lines or links to present past or futurs within the freeespace universe

for me a tc is TBP or fate of the galaxy etc etc as this is truly totaly converted it also has the secondary aspect of not needing the core files and there for is standalone but hey as long as ppl keep making stuff i will be eternaly grateful

I take that back. Were you to replace all existing ships, then sure I guess you could call it one, but I don't think any of those exist.
