Anyone remember "The Minbari Project" ?
I wonder what happend to an awesome B5 themed conversion called "Babylon 4: The minbari project".
I downloaded it a long time ago and very enjoyed it's Newtonian flight model and decent mission design.
I think it really shouldn't be dead because it was and awesome idea and something that i haven't seen on any other space sim game (though they mentioned a game called "IFH" but i don't know for what it stands).
I also think the code used by it's build should be available in SCP builds via AI Profile flag ,so standard flight model can be used for atmospheric missions.

If it's dead I would like to see it reactivated and if somebody will restart the project ,I volunteer be a member and i will do everything i can for TMP ,because the only things i didn't like in the prologue was missile lock speed limits ,hyperspace battles (i got lost a few times) and ,unfortunately ,buggy build (it crashed for me when i tried to continue campaign ,so i had to start over anytime i wanted to play it ,but it was a little problem).

I hope it's still alive or if not, will get restarted ,because i very liked the feeling of constant need to check your speed to don't loose control ,controlling your fuel and oxygen and those awesome fight techniques.

Should be sticky ,but it isn't.

It's definitely not dead.

In fact you probably should be expecting some news soon.

You should visit the proxima forums for the latest info on it. Go here http://proxima-fleet.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?fid=18

if you like newtonion physic gameplay, try out TERMINUS.

Great nonlinear game  :)

They're referring to Babylon 5: I've Found Her. It lacks proper capship battles (well, AFAIK, as I haven't finished it yet) but everything else is really cool. They even modelled black-out and red-out effects into it! Apparently the team that made it have a new website but it's not working for me (http://ifh.babylonfive.ru/). Their old website is still up but it keeps wanting me to redirect to the new one.

This is the old site with some info about it: http://ifh.firstones.com/project/faq/

Well, you can make your own missions (campaigns) or your own mod for TMP. Also you can inform project leaders about your desire to join team.

Re: Anyone remember "The Minbari Project" ?
Thanks ,i didn't expected they have a forum in other place than HLP or Game Warden.
As for IFH ,they say it's freeware ,where i can download it ?
It should be nice to play another game with Newtonian psychics.
I see Terminus is not available free ,maybe i will find it somewhere with a decent price.
I think I should also learn to FRED missions for TMP.
I will try to edit tables ,but i first need to find out how much effect have different values (acceleration values are something completely different from freespace ones).

I still think inertial flight code should made it to standard builds as AI Profile flag.
It will allow some intresting ideas for example: you fly in space towards a planet ,fighting your way through enemy fighters and when you reach "entry point" ,it takes you to next mission via red alert (and maybe atmospheric entry cinematic) ,where the different AI Profile is on and fight over the planet using standard flight model ,then when you finish the job you take off from the planet (at this point there shouldn't be a problem of changing loadout because enemy defenders would be gone at this time) and return to carrier.

I think program should handle changing stats by additional Tbl lines for Newtonian model (like $newforward accel: below $forward accel).
If those lines will not be present it will use standard values for Newtonian model and in atmosphere ,but it's not going to be realistic to have ship accelerating with the same values where air is present.
Of course if somebody don't like full Newtonian psychics he can always play with "FS2 Retail" AI Profile where this option is disabled by default (additional lines will be ignored).

Re: Anyone remember "The Minbari Project" ?
Newtonian flight most definitely should not be an AI profile. It's pretty stupid to swap the flight model during a campaign so therefore it should be in the tables.

Re: Anyone remember "The Minbari Project" ?
you can download I've found her Prequel here:
http://ifh.babylonfive.ru/

the website IS online and the download links (right side, small box) work.

Remember that this is a forum for The Babylon Project, which is of course seperate to Minbari Project.
I am not closing this thread but why not discuss the MP in the MP forum?

Thank you very much ,I'm downloading IFH prequel and I will surely monitor TMP forums.
I'm looking forward to play full version of TMP.
It has rights to truly be called "simulator".

Deuternomy 22:11 explained:

Well there are many different speculations going on about this law about not mixing fibers and at least one explanation claims that it was a symbolic gesture designed to keep a pure sense of culture, people, and religion.  Seperation of crop  in the vinyard, mentioned in Dt. 22:9 and 22:10 seem to reaffirm this idea, though there may be other reasons as well.

And now, an excerpt from the Prayer of Mordecai, the Book of Esther Chapter C (New American Bible Official Catholic version).

Est C:5  You know all things.  You know, O Lord, that it was not out of insolence or pride or desire for fame that I acted thus in not bowing down to the proud Haman.  6  Gladly would I have kissed the soles of his feet for the salvation of Israel.  7  But I acted as I did so as not to place the honor of man above that of God.  I will not bow down to anyone but you, my Lord.  It is not out of pride that I am acting thus.
