I've been going through the FS2 modding part of the forum trying to update myself on whats been happening and made and I've been finding it hard to tell whats been released recently, I was wondering if we should have a seperate section for released models etc so if people dont want WIP pics and wanna get the good stuff they can jump right too it.
Just an idea anyway

Sub-forum for released mods might not be a bad idea, although there's always FreeSpaceMods which has pretty good tools for browsing through stuff.

I proposed something like that for released campaigns, but the idea did not have success.

The Wiki isn't here for nothing, someone says. Too bad there's just one link here on HLP. Also, the Wiki is ignored by the most, which is a shame.

Boards like "FreeSpace Modding" and "Missions and Campaigns" should have a stickied and locked thread linking to certain FS Wiki sections, like the Campaign List.

I use the wiki routinely and I'm a noob.

I agree there should be some more signage pointing to it though, it's a good resource. It taught me how to make semi-functional music.tbl files slowly and painfully!

Really though, there should be some more links.

Sorry, but your post just doesn't make sense. A stickied thread in the following boards:

- FreeSpace Modding

- FRED Discussion

- Missions and Campaigns

...providing links to their respective sections in the FS Wiki is not confusing at all. Quite frankly, I can't even think of an easier way. Thanks to Woomeister, I managed to do this in the Inferno board:

It doesn't mean that the Wiki is widely used. Just look at how many members post threads containing questions that only people who have never used the Wiki could ask.

I think you miss understand what I'm asking about 
I am refering to having a 'finished models' section so people that have been out of the loop for awhile can go straight there and see whats been released, I dont recall any need for tutorials

I'd agree with the subsection forum.  Not everything everyone makes belongs in the fs2 universe.

Its just abit of organising, helps to clean the modding forum up abit so its easier to navigate and find what you want

The wiki is still the best place for this though. A subforum doesn't do anything a wiki page can't and requires far more effort and maintenance.

A wiki page is harder to talk about the models per say though.
