Uruk-Hai were confirmed result of Inteligent Dasein [I knew I had seen that somewhere, Ford, but for all the powers of the universe couldn't remember where!;.............

And I thought I was a nerd.........
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

Why are we discussing the Uruk-hai? Tolkien's works belong to a totally unrealistic genre.

Some say we evolved from apes.          <---wrong
Some say God created us from earth.   <---partially right

truth is:

Our ancestors came from outer space some 150000 years ago, with space ships led by a huge Battlestar.
The origin of our race is Kobol, where God created us.
He also has a plan for us, it seems it involves nukes ( and for some very strange reason Snuffleupagus ), not sure though.

That's the truth. Face it. :P

it's a fact in the same way the 'the earth is flat' is a fact, science was wrong about that and it's wrong about evolution.

This is actually a myth about the Medieval era which is actually quite untrue. They were aware that the world was round.

Have you talked to the Flat Earth Society recently?

In other news, several trolls have been sighted lurking in the evolution argument thread. Readers are advised not to feed them.

1) The world isn't round :nervous:;

2) The myth is actually true. At the time of Galileo Galilei opposite theories had pretty much the same importance and debates were progressing. Galileo was simply condemnded for his overconfidence.

Pretty much the same thing happened to Columbus. Everyone knew that Earth wasn't flat back then - the issue was about reaching India by heading west (it wasn't supposed to be a wise move). Colombus' calculations were also bogus... had not been for the presence of the American continent his mission would have turned into a total failure. Let's say that he was lucky in finding a previously unexplored (uh, Vikings?) continent halfway to Asia. :D

I'm desperately hoping you're just using that as an inflammatory remark in a facetious manner... because if you're not, I suggest you prepare yourself for a serious schooling in history, the scientific method, evolutionary theory, and modern genetics.

I have another week before I go back to work and I have a lot of free time on my hands.  Don't mess with me  :p

You know guys, we could've just said "We have no ****ing idea" instead of making up religion. But we had to delusion ourselves into thinking we had the answers, and now look at the mess we've made. :C

Study stuff like Geology and you'd learn. I was all against Creationism and now that I'm attending my specific courses my position is strengthening.

Religion isn't anything near to Nature in terms of fascination, complexity, variety, coolness, etc. etc.. Saying "God created everything as we know it, evolution didn't occur" is an insult to billions of years of interesting events.

Bolded stuff is an insult to any thinking religious person too.
