ACLU will get involved if these guys prevent the kid from graduating. So many ways in which this is unconstitutional in the US. The one thing that got to me though was this line:

I mean, the arrogance of these people, thinking that they know, without question, the will of their god better than anyone else in the world. Didn't jesus talk about humility and such? Wankers.

The thing is, it isn't unconstitutional: this is a private school. They can set whatever goofy rules they want.

I absolutely hate people like that (the school in general), Fundamentalist Christians to that extreme shouldn't be existing in the 21st Century, it's just that simple. If the asshole was living in Australia we'd have taken care of him already He deserves to have his face kicked in for even trying to impose that kind of thing on a teen these days, if he can't move on from 0 AD, then that's HIS problem, not Frost's. School rules or not, there must be something standing in the way of the school trying to infringe on out of hours activities. Arrghhh!

PRivate schools have this kind of power. They can ban you from having a myspace whether you access it from school or not and such.

But he's not legally bound to the contract thinger they've made him sign, as he's a minor.

Trust me, this isn't in any way representative of any level of American schooling.  This is just...puritanical.  I've heard of a few wacky private schools with strict regulations, but never anything remotely near this level.

I'm mostly just wondering why they're so insecure.  The best way to get people to do something is to tell them not to do it (adam, eve, apple, premarital sex  etc).  They should really know better.

This forum does not exist for you to ridicule people because you don't agree with them, if you want to talk about the difference of opinion between your views and his then fine, but if you plan to ridicule him for believing it then you are attacking the person, not the opinion.

One Baptist private school is not every school in America.

Christianity opens the door for people to do all sorts of stupid things, because Christianity is a set of beliefs which encourage a lot of stupid things to be done.

Criticism of Christianity is criticism of Christians.
