For the Centennial Post, we learn some Important Rules:
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,6.msg100.html#msg100

Upon reaching the Half-Millennial Post, we are reminded that things were not always blue skies and flowers...
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,30.msg500.html#msg500

And here at the Full Millennial Post, we revisit upon some good old computer advice. But that's not it - notice the post date! Just about a year and a month ago, with 99,000 posts in-between! Wow!!
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,52.msg1000.html#msg1000

You my not think there's anything special about our 10,000th post, but look again: HLP'ers are doing what they do best - helping each other out! *calls for a group hug* :p
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,577.msg10000.html#msg10000

Thunder's love for the stars peeks out at us for our 50,000th post, as well as the displeasure we all share at the sad state fo the world today. :(
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,3551.msg50000.html#msg50000

And of course, for the Grand Finale, we all should congratulate Styxx - his incessant spa-err.... posting!! has gotten him the coveted place of HLP's 100,000th poster!
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,6189.msg100000.html#msg100000

Heh - did anyone notice that the last two of those threads were started by Yours Truly? :p ;)

Beautiful compilation, dude. :D

It is interesting, though, that the postid=100000 doesn't actually point to Post #100K; Styxx made it while I was still online, and we were only at 99, 600 or so. :) As I make this post, it says postid=100500, while we're only up to 100, 300. :)

Anyway, congratulations everyone. I dare you all to try and defeat the Law of Setekh - that the Steak of Steaks will always have >10% of the posts. Bring it. :D

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

That's the Gen FS scheme... :)
