Remember how angry he is when saying "Do NOT collide with my ship!"?

Has anyone managed to kill that friggin' Instructor though? (AFAIK your weapons subsystems don't get automatically destroyed in vanilla FS1)

He wasn't angry when he said that. He was just placing emphasis.

Although given the nature of retail AI, you collide with ships all the time. :nervous:

Here's an even better idea: play Bearbaiting and make all your wingmen (including Gamma and Delta) invulnerable through cheats. Complete the mission, remove invulnerability from them and tell them to C-3-7 or C-3-8. :drevil:

"Oh no it's Demon! He will kill us all!" (as a Demon jumps in 20 kilometers away...facing away from you)

"Pilots, engage Thunder and Storm wings.  Do not go near Demon or he will shoot you." (again, same Demon)

"Demon ran away. COWARD!!" (big Typhon)

"You should be thanking our spies."

Oh, bad Silent Threat add-on missions...
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

Haw, I remember that one. Volition included that one why now?
To consider the Earth as the only populated world in infinite space is as absurd as to assert that in an entire field of millet, only one grain will grow. - Metrodorus of Chios
I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

Oh, bad Silent Threat add-on missions...

I've seen worse, but it's not quote-related. There was one mission in which you had to defend a Fenris (or a Leviathan?) which you could simply order to depart, and win the mission.

Re: Favorite Quote in Freespace
here's a good canon quote:

"What if there have been countless races... Stretching back into infinity... and like the nine cities of Troy each civilization had been built upon the rubble of the one that came before... Each anihilated by the Shivans..."

The majority of those missions were at least decent, and they included the excellent Destiny of Peace campaign in its entirety, but there were a few stinkers in there too.  I'd forgotten all about that dialog until Nuclear1's post.

I remember there was this one mission where you had to scan Shivan cargo, I think with the benefit of being stealthy... they had ridiculous cargo, one container was full of "spherical chickens"...

I'm sure that was the one that was actually an example/tutorial mission created by someone. No, wait, that was a different one.

That's probably from SGWP2. There's a screenshot of it in the Celebration of Freespace thread, but since I'm too lazy to look it up, here it is:

You may be able to get a few more SGWP2 quotes over here. Those are all the screenshots I have of SGWP2 thus far. :)

You destroyed the GTSC Pal, a helpless ship that cost a lot of money.
You'll make Admiral one day.
