This is quite true. Either THQ completely and explicitly controls what Volition can and cannot do, which is very unlikely, or the problem lies within Volition itself. As Warlock said on the VBB, the reason they went into the console market was that games there do not need to be supported in any way after release; they want to just "shove a game out there and forget about it." Based on what I have seen, I have a feeling that both THQ and Volition have these problems.

Exactly, I can quite understand why people over there have gone wild. I'm pretty furious myself, but I see nothing to be gained in venting it out there. There is not much to be lost either, though; banning doesn't mean much when the board is going to be closed in a few days. As for the Squadwar people fighting, most multiplayer communities are much, much worse than that; the reason they do not collapse is because of active moderation, both in the leagues themselves and the forums, which the SW community completely lacked.
