Being a conservative doesn't mean you're a young earth creationist woman hater (although 90% of them are)...

...just throwin' that out there...

Thread derail imminent.

Being conservative shouldn't mean too much period. When people identify themselves with a certain group, they're inevitably assumed to be like the stereotypical member of that group to those unknowing. And generally stereotypes aren't constructed of the inconspicuous "level-headed" people.

He's thinking about Lib and High Max on that one.

And Trashman

None of whom have actually posted yet. :D

Aren't they all currently banned from GenDisc anyway?

And yeah, what thesizzler said is unfortunately correct.

Honestly, that's true. I try not to identify myself as a conservative unless I really am forced to "pick a side".

There's just so much leeway nowdays it's hard to define people into groups.

Look, let's not go bashing them, they can't post in their own defense. It's just bad form.

Live and let live, I says.

Dang straight. People ask me what my political viewpoints are like I can tell them in a few seconds. Personally, I'd sooner tell people that I'm uninterested in politics than bind myself to any pre-existing dynamic. Still, "Heck if I know" doesn't always cut it, and people always tend to lose interest after I tell them it depends on what perspective I'm using to look at things...

I'm just curious how far he could walk down a street in that gettup before some old grandpas who served in the European Theater started beating the stupid out of him with their canes.

tbh that's not a German uniform, the collar's all wrong. It looks Soviet.

OH NOOOOOOO COMMIEEEEEES

I watched an episode of Glenn Beck the other night. Because I watch Fox News when it looks interesting. Curiosity. Whatnot.

Anyway, it was an hour of picking apart comments by random political figures and ranting about "ARE YOU LIKE MARX OR MADISON? MARX OR MADISON? MARX OR MADISON?" And he just said it over and over again, and I realized that conservatives really don't have thoughts. They're all well-disguised parrots.

I'd never seen an actual episode of Glenn Beck before (just clips from other sources). I guess I just always assumed that he couldn't possibly be as crazy (stupid) as he looks when other people show clips of his show.

Too bad, SS uniforms looked better anyway. Soviet fashion was an oxymoron.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside
