So Who's Actually Seen Galactica?
As Karajorma knows i've only ever seen one episode. I own a humble digital tuner :) the hw2 mod is the only knowledge I have of the ships aside from the viper and the big G. The aries was smaller than said G but it had stealth.

Regardless, your screens from years back blow it out of the water. I'm now an eager expectant follower. :)

*lostllama is somewhat consoled by this discovery*

Re: 10-01-11 - Kicking Off The New Year
I'd wager that's about how much time I put into the Miniseries as well.

Anyway Raptor's fine and all, but I want to see more fighter screens. :D

Edit: I also remember watching about five minutes of the original BSG as well.

Dekker, lostllama, and Zane, I declare all of you Excommunicate Traitoris for the crime of manifest disbelief, an offense for which there is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.

[21:51] <@Droid803> OH WELLL.

See what you're missing in #WoD and #Fsquest?

[07:57:32] <Caiaphas> inspired by HerraTohtori i built a supermaneuverable plane in ksp
[07:57:43] <Caiaphas> i just killed my pilots with a high-g maneuver
[07:58:19] <Caiaphas> apparently people can't take 20 gees for 5 continuous seconds
[08:00:11] <Caiaphas> the plane however performed admirably, and only crashed because it no longer had any guidance systems

Re: 10-01-11 - Kicking Off The New Year
But...butbutbutbutbut....I do have the limited edition DVD box set - recently got it as a post-Xmas gift...I just haven't had time to watch it yet (got an exam coming up). I am intending to watch them before Diaspora (and BtRL, if it ever manifests) is released.

Please don't shun me just yet...

I see there's a "who has seen less bsg" contest going on. Fine, I'll bite - I have never seen an episode of Battlestar Galactica in my life. Beat that!

Completely different shows. The new one is one of the best TV shows of the last...well, sixty years or so.

Re: 10-01-11 - Kicking Off The New Year
I don't get it. I thought nBSG being reimagined meant it was still BSG. :wtf:

They both have the 12 colonies, there's Cylons (Different origin between the two series), same characters (Ones a girl now), Vipers, Raiders, Battlestars, Basestars (Listed ships having lasers on one series and ballistics on the other), the plot is centered on an exodus fleet, how are they different?

It's the old series with a facelift.

No, it's not. It's not at all.

You'll know it when you see it.

It's really not. Watch it and see. If you have and still think that then the point is moot since no amount of me explaining it is likely to have an effect.

Re: 10-01-11 - Kicking Off The New Year
Yeah. It's like comparing...I dunno, World War I and World War II, because they both have Germans, Russians, British, French, and Americans, tanks, soldiers, and infantry.

Except the difference is even more so.

Re: 10-01-11 - Kicking Off The New Year
The original was more economical and used the same shot in every episode.

But they both had robot dogs. . .  Ooooooh I insulted blonde cylon babe. Ima gonna get shot.

Original robo-dog had more character anyway. :p

Have you guys improved the jump effect btw? :)

Just watch the show. It's fantastic. Makes most of the rest of televised SF look a little adolescent.

Re: 10-01-11 - Kicking Off The New Year
What exactly is the point of coming to a forum that's obviously visited by BSG fans, making definitive statements about a show you've obviously never seen, then when people try to explain a few things about it, you simply state that you don't care?
No offense but if that's not trolling then I don't know what is.
Uh, belive it or not there's significant differences between what was used in World War I and World War II, not to mention the fact that there was an additional nation involved as well as major breakthroughs in technolical science, which is what I was referring to in my last post.
No offense but you fail at assuming what people talk about when they directly quote another post, when General Battuta mentioned the wars comparison I was no longer talking about BSG.

Re: 10-01-11 - Kicking Off The New Year
That's exactly my point.

World War I and II weren't the same, in spite of sharing a bunch of superficially common elements. Nor are the two shows, except the difference between the shows is even bigger.
