I would recommend that we set up some sort of meeting to flesh out the details of this endeavor (maybe ICQ, IRC or something like that) as it should help us get things properly organized.

For the first time in my memory I find myself in full agreement with you Kazan. If people are willing to try, good luck to them. After all, the more support it has, the more incentive for it to be completed.

Don't forget to put a FRED style editor in for this new engine of yours Kazan, but make sure neams are on by default :D.

Not pessimism... REALISM. Have you ever even written a complete game?

Furthermore... what's the point? I could see maybe writing an all-new super-moddable space game, but what you're talking about is basically redundant. The FS2 engine is still keeping up with what people are asking of it, and looking damn good while it does it.

Oh, and nice ego-blast in your sig. Like anyone but you cares what your VBB stats were.

Personally, im looking forward to this project Kazan. Maybe improve the cluster missile by having it "spew" the missiles in a cascading spiral format. Or not, either works :)

Personally, I don't think it's likely, but there's no harm in trying.

Myself, I'm not even going to attempt anything like this till I've finished Uni, unless i go down to Dundee in the summer - to work on a game / multimedia project.  Provided I can get my team together, which is a bit difficult at the mo with our workload.

In case anyone missed it, we're not "trying yet."

Just seeing if it's feasible. And more than Kazan is looking at it. Kick ourselves for taking his suggestion later, right now, it's at least academically interesting, and there seems to be genuine interest.
