This is fantastic.

Outsider perspective: since you went to such silly lengths right there, I'm just going to assume you really are a scientologist until I see a more believable statement to the contrary.

I'm sure you don't care what I think, but probably that's still more your loss than mine, so if you're trolling, maybe you'd like to refine your style a bit more...

Maybe it would've been better if I said "completely, deadly, 100 percent, 300-proof, triple-thickness, 50% off SERIOUS".

or I could have just been like

ARE YOU AN ENTHETA BEING?

Not good enough. I'll just mentally stamp you as one of those nutty folks from now on then.

Additionally, please refrain from using the forum's search function to check out battuta + scientology. There's nothing there that might be relevant. At all. And if there was something revelant, it'd take you hours to find it.
Wow... and I thought you were being sarcastic and just went and wasted 10 minutes of my time. :P

[nosarcasm]Alright, that's it! From now on every post in this thread must be properly tagged.[/nosarcasm]

Listen to me very carefully. When a person dies—or, in Scientology terms, when a thetan abandons their physical body—they go to a "landing station" on the planet Venus, where the thetan is re-implanted and told lies about its past life and its next life. The Venusians take the thetan, capsule it, and send it back to Earth to be dumped into the ocean off the coast of California. Now, if you can get out of that, and through that, and wander around through the cities and find some girl who looks like she is going to get married or have a baby or something like that, you're all set. And if you can find the maternity ward to a hospital or something, you're OK. And you just eventually just pick up a baby.

But to avoid these inconveniences, you should just refuse to go to Venus after your death.

for the rest of you, do you honestly think that SP did this against their will? look at this thread, look at the media attention, this is the biggest thing they've had in a while, I have a feeling this was all according to keikaku.

But I wear butterbeer cork necklaces AND bracelets.

No, I don't think this is "JUST AS PLANNED..." since the makers of South Park are being blasted on the Internet right now as a bunch of spineless bastards who bent over backwards to accommodate a pissed-off group who took offense at their show.

Yes, because as a long-running show that (AFAIK) isn't on the verge of dying, it would be better for them just to conduct business as usual instead of taking a gamble with some kind of publicity stunt.

I'm not sure what you're trying to do here. You can keep your nutty cult stuff to yourself, thank you very much.

It's funny how even scientologists can seem perfectly reasonable people until that stuff starts coming out. Oh well... :sigh:

are you getting his ever so subtle meaning yet?

Which would be what?

I don't think it's impossible that he's trolling, but I'll just rather go with the simpler assumption that he's a scientologist. A couple seemingly scientology-mocking jokes aren't going to do much to change that; it's not like he's saying scientology is a fraud or anything, just writing in caps what he might be believing anyway, which doesn't require any cognitive dissonance. Even scientologists are capable of self-irony, so that doesn't prove anything. If he were to, say, post a believable explanation in a serious tone explaining how he's not a scientologist and what he "really" thinks about them, then fine, but that's certainly not going to happen if he really is one. I'm not holding my breath.

ok, first off:

Poe's Law

Similar to Murphy's Law, Poe's Law concerns internet debates, particularly regarding religion or politics.

"Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to create a parody of Fundamentalism that SOMEONE won't mistake for the real thing."

In other words, No matter how bizzare, outrageous, or just plain idiotic a parody of a Fundamentalist may seem, there will always be someone who cannot tell that it is a parody, having seen similar REAL ideas from real religious/political Fundamentalists.
The following is an actual Internet post to Biblically defend a flat Earth:

"All I was saying was that either the earth is flat, and the bible is correct, or the earth is round, and the bible is incorect, i'm going to study the issue more and deside for myself which route I want to take. Either Atheist evolutionist, who agrees with all of mainstream sciences, or flat earth litteral bible believer.
I'm leaning toward being an atheist, because if I can't believe the bible to be completly litteraly true, then I can't believe Jesus when he speaks about heaven, etc..
That would make the moon landing a fake, and pretty much all of modern science false..."

Response:

"That's it, I'm claiming Poe's Law on this guy."

Wow... and I thought you were being sarcastic and just went and wasted 10 minutes of my time. :P

I was being sarcastic. It only took me thirty seconds to find a post in which Bat was all, "Tell the man thatwe come in friendship."
And meesh is, "Dude, my big American friends are going to **** you up if you don't show us some blownup tanks."
And the haji's all, "Habadabada? Daba daba."
And meesh is all, "Dude, these Iraqis love the fact that we are here. They ****ing love freedom and they thought that those fireballs last night were ****ing wicked, dude. You Americans have killed a lot of sand. The sand was very evil."

Wait, no. I mean, he said something about it all being stories and one faith shouldn't be allowed to gain primacy or some such. Guess I got lucky.
I will ask that you explain yourself. Please do so with the clear understanding that I may decide I am angry enough to destroy all of you and raze this sickening mausoleum of fraud down to the naked rock it stands on.

second, all that **** he is saying is the **** that real scientologists levee multimillion dollar law suits to suppress because if the masses knew what they believed no one would ever take anything they said seriously, and everyone would just laugh at them when they offered a free stress test. no it's vastly more likely he was wearing a guy faulks mask at one point in his life than holding a set of cans, not namefaging him or anything, just suggesting the possibility.

ps for some fun type "scientology is" into google and see what it suggests.

third

scientologists are capable of self-irony

your understanding of the situation is demonstrably flawed.

in fact I'd sooner believe you were an OSA agent than the general of the forth (or was it fifth, I can never remember) Marcabian fleet here was actually a clam.

And sabotage the lols he worked so hard to save?  No, Battman will have to run.  Because he is the hero HLP deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we’ll troll him. Because he can take it, because he’s not our hero--He’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector…a dork knight.
