This is just a vent of frustration but

i seriously need to get a new graphics card as mine is and has for years been corrupting graphics and i think it started not long after an over-clocking attempt (so my own fault) anyway i jumped on ebay half an hour ago to see what i could get to fit my ancient AGP slot (no pci-e support on my MSI KN8 Neo) and i ran into this but i just cant justify £70

I'm looking at GF 6600 as a minimum as 6600 GT 256 MB is what I am sat on right now, not looking at ATI as FSO has ongoing issues with them and I have always found them lacklustre in the past, it has to be AGP to fit in my mobo and needs to have d-sub connectivity for my Samsung Syncmaster 753s CRT monitor.  All of these requirements mean that i cant go beyond the 7950 as that was the last card to be built supporting AGP.

As for cooling I have not had a passively cooled card since before I was on my TNT2 back in 2000ish, I only run 2x80mm case fans plus the two in my power supply and I believe a passive system is to vulnerable to 'hot' weather such as what we have in the UK now.

Frankly I do find the total disregard of stealth's offer a little astounding. It's a free video card of excellent quality.

geforce 7800 gts agp there is. My dad had one, it's absolutely great. I think you ought to just save money and get a new motherboard with pcie (but that may necessitate new processor and new ram if you can't find one with pcie that will take your current hardware). I had a cool motherboard back in the past. It couldn't do overclocking or support dual core, but it had sata and ide, and pcie with an agp slot (this agp slot was actually tied into the pcie bus and was compatible with many cards). That's what i did back in the day. Actually you find several good motherboards for cheap that has both pcie and agp.
