Hmm...I just bet if you correlate recent flooding (in Tennesee's case the worst in recorded history, in both monetary and less tangible ways making Katrina look like an afternoon shower, with barely a blip from ANY mass media source.  Of course it's flyover country and the home of Country music so it's barely worth mentioning, but I digress...) and the locations of the sinkholes I suspect you'd find that the excess water is washing out the less dense strata beneath what's on the surface.  Of course what do I know....

Hmmmm, could this be why the dry well in our back yard is getting bigger..  :eek:

Thats funny (in a way) because my wife had thought about throwing our daughters old boyfriend in it. But thats another story..  :nervous:
