Are there any alternatives to TrueSpace 1 out there for texturing ship models that don't cost loadsa cash?  I've tried the TS3+ demos, but they don't allow you to sav, and I'm getting really annoyed   at my textures being warped.

Any help would be great, cheers!

You could use milkshape (very cheap) and convert with 3d exploration. Other than that I'm not sure...

What exactly is milkshape?  I've heard of it in connection to Half-Life mods on the VBB, but I don't know what it is exactly.

Also, how cheap is very cheap?

My recommendation is 3Dstudio MAX.
Lightwave 6 is also good..
or if you feel advanced, try softimage XSI or Maya3 Unlimited.
