Re: inching closer to space tourism
Hi, enjoy the orbit, were not going to the moon.

I wonder if virgin will make a space station hotel. They probably wouldn't want to go for that. Needing tourists to insure themselves with the asteroid and space junk plan. Heck, that applies for orbiting the earth a couple of times to.
Every pilot's goal is to rise up in the ranks and go beyond their purpose to a place of command on a very big ship. Like the colossus; to baseball bat everyone.

Last I heard they are developing a space station hotel. It's not enough to put people into space, they need a place to go.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

Commercial flights will depart from New Mexico where a spaceport is under construction

I think that one line says it all really. ;7
I, Aries one, have proved myself superior to the legendary Terran pilot Alpha one! Let the Vasudan people take pride in this accomplishment, and take the Parliamentary Vasudan Empire to victory over the inferior Galactic Terran Alliance! Long live the Emperor!

Spaceports? Not in New Mexico, I think. Main US spaceports are in Florida and California. Of course, I could be wrong.

[Edit] Actually, if you consider White Sands to be a spaceport, then I suppose I -am- wrong.

Re: inching closer to space tourism
And, unless the geography of the world has changed a lot recently, that is in Alaska. And since when does the fact that there's a spaceport in Alaska have a bearing on whether there already exists a spaceport in New Mexico prior to Virgin Galactic constructing one? :p

Unless you're arguing against the main US spaceports being Vandenberg and Kennedy Space Center/Cape Canavaral, in which case notice the word 'main', which is not the word 'only', and implies that more exist besides those mentioned.
