Exactly that. The series wasn't really good IMHO, but it was at least watchable, and Pokemon Snap was actually good. Then it all started sucking after the first gen.
Off topic, the music from some of the Ace Combats is the best video game music I've ever heard.

Aggron is quite decent now that it can get Head Smash with no recoil. Apart from the fact that it looks pretty cool :)
