Yes. Having seen quite literally hundreds of players used to only survival be very thankfull down the line that creepers are disabled, and knowing that you play in only survival, I can make the very reasonable assumption that you have no idea what you're talking about, even about yourself. Most of those same people have made the same complaints you did before they made something that took them weeks even in creative mode. Then they sorta shut up and were glad creepers didn't totally wreck the thing they're so proud of.

As for the building process, yes, it has been primarily Kyad and myself, but that hasn't been exclusive by any means. Hades did the external hull detailing, Polpolion just made the radar deck, and if more people were around, I'd put them to work too. Us having creative mode has made people take the attitude of, "Well they're set for resources, so I can't be of any help", when that's far from the truth. Lately I've been pushing to get Fenris done by June 4th (1 year from the project start), and the server's been mighty lonely most times (cue Team America Kim Jong Il song). I'd love to be able to bounce ideas off people, put them to work building this section or that section... they're just not around when I am.

Bah, the only direct insult to date is the asshat angel thing. If you're taking insults from me saying that creative mode builds will always outshine survival ones because of what the game modes are, especialy considering trashmania 2 compared to 1, then you're insane. That was when Qaz and I were trying to fix your precious airlock, and grimper was still very new to the server. Before the new flip-flops. I effectively told him 1: we didnt need help. and 2: his memory bit didnt retain the data and thus wasnt usefull anyway.

Equating they "sorta shut up" with "I sure am glad those creepers are nerfed, I agree with everything you've ever said" is erroneous. Don't project your own feelings onto others. What you assume they thought and what they actually thought are two different things. Basically you're presuming what I would think based upon presuming hundreds of times what other people have thought.

The only time I would nerf creepers for myself was if I was making an adventure map to be played by other people. Even then I would take precautions within the map to stop creepers so the mechanisms the players encounter would not get wreck during their playthrough.

I thought that my post mentioning violation of Wheaton's Law would have been enough (and it did seem to calm things down a bit), but they seem to be coming back up again, so I'll be blunt.

If you want to have a debate on the merits of different styles of playing minecraft, I don't have a problem with it when it's civilized (and I don't think anyone else does when the conversation falls under the previously mentioned condition).  What I'm seeing here (and others are complaining about) has become less than.

I don't want to have to put on a mod/admin hat either, as mongoose put it, but if it comes down to that...

I don't have a problem with the way people play. What I do have a problem with is:
A - People saying my opinion doesn't matter because I play a certain way
B - People making assumptions about what I would or would not think if I did play a certain way
C - People claiming he's played with hundreds of people who not only changed their minds, but actively argued in favour of his own opinion.

Or in short I have problems with little kids who live in a fantasy world.

And frankly as a newcomer to the game, some of the opinions in this thread are not exactly endearing me to minecrat. Fortunately to most everyone's credit those opinions are in the vast minority and most everyone else seems sane. And it's funny I played COD MW3 for longer and in the XBL community which is supposed to be more virulent and I never had anyone talking down about the way I played.


And for the record I've already played and built stuff on qaz's server so to say I have a problem with the settings, can only play in a specific way or want him to actively change how it's run is completely and utterly wrong. Especially since I only ever asked a question, and never actively petitioned for anyone to change anything.

And that's all I'll say about that.

Oh, and if anyone else hasn't seen one yet and doesn't mind the hike, there's a small archipelago of mushroom islands near -2000, 4000 that aren't overly far from general civilization; I was just playing around there a bit earlier.  (There was a group of mooshrooms hanging out on a large brown mushroom that I really should have screencapped.)  There's another revealed island a ways south of that, and a third waaaaaaay further south along Sandwich's exploration path.  The terrain on this closest one is pretty cool.
