Axem, where would you like your station to be? Give coordinates please.

I'd like the main station to be around 30, 59, -830. I've already sort of got something started there for a local rail line.

I've also got corridors around that area where I was hoping to have the rail line, but if you've got some alternate way, that's cool too. Try to catch me on minecraft or IRC or something.

I saw a tweet from Jeb about adding biome data to chunks in whatever new map format he's working on; apparently, this would allow tool makers to come up with biome-editing stuff.  Huzzah!

Can I have my Apollo brought in? I'm still looking for a place to set it down that wont get it covered in snow right now, but Im sure I'll find a spot soon enough. I know for a fact I'm going to need help on the cockpit when I get there.

Stress testing possible new server at 199.168.142.118:25607 feel free to blow the hell out of everything.

dynmap should be up at: http://199.168.142.118:8236/ I'm not running a full render as that'll be detrimental to performance, I want to get a feel as to what the server will be like under normal conditions.
Also managed to copy over 2.5 million blocks at once, didn't crash so stuff looks promising

No kidding. All FS ships should be in the End. Make a nice rail to tour around them, and we get the full 128 (soon 512) without having to cut away at the land. And no weather to screw it up.

There could also be a little building for each that acts as a rail station/info center, each with a warp and no way to the End island  or each other (isolated).

So we were stress testing the server earlier. Out of them all, 2 tests really stood out.

First test, Fenris was copied to the End. 2,500,000 blocks. The server did boot us during the process. but less then 5 mins later we could join again, and what do we see? It copied it perfectly. No crash.


The second test was, admittedly a lot more fun. Whats the best way to really stress a MC world? You nuke the hell out of it of course! But how much TNT do you use?

Well I didn't count. I should have. However, I did take pre-test screenshots. I'll let you count.







So how did server take this? An estimated 3000+ TNT (45 minutes of placement) should be enough to bring down a server right?

It didn't even flinch.

It took almost 3 minutes for all the TNT to explode. While the explosions didn't keep up client side, The game was perfectly playable and movement was smooth.

It didn't even flinch.

the clientside lag is always due to the sheer number of drops appearing and the client trying to render them all at the same time. you can crash the server with around 12k tnt being flung around like maniacal psycho's tho...

Oh wow, I was thinking for a moment that someone actually blew up Trashmania2, glad it was just a mockup.

It's cool that the Fenris managed to be copied so well, think you'll keep that copy there or was it removed afterwards?

As such, you can see that The End is perfect for placing FS2 ships, now we just need to make a 'starfield' behind the ship(s).
