I saw a preview of an upcoming interview with Jeb, and at some point in the future, he wants to "get rid of" singleplayer...

...no, not in that way.  Apparently in the Pocket version, even when you're playing "alone," you can invite someone else to join your map, and Jeb wants to add that functionality to the original too.  It'd be great to show people your random derpings without going through the hassle of passing around map files or setting up a server.

Only about half, then use worldedit to mirror every now and again. All touch ups and higher detail work is done by hand. Total work time is only about maybe 30 hours in the last 3 weeks.

Add in a way to mark areas as "Villages" that will attract villagers to come live in structures you've built, or to build their own when they arrive. I'm not on the minecraft forums, but I'll give you a  here.

Though I think you might want to make different threads for separate suggestions. That thread for your villager-centric suggestion, and another for the banners/customizable block textures suggestion.

I generally start Minecraft, see no one is on the server...and go away. Worry not, once the new bukkit comes, activity will peak again.

Waiting for the server to update to 1.2.3, mainly because of all the sheer lagginess - I just can't play when it's that bad. My comp seems to need an upgrade too - minecraft's lack of optimization is killing my computer after I play for about two hours.

There's a couple of things I need to do to related to SQL databases that I suspect will fix the lagginess, when I have some free time I'll try and do it.

The test server was powerul and cheap but had awful uptime, so it wasn't reallly an option :/

Did a quick search and didn't find much.  Is anyone working on making biomes use the old moisture/temperature scale?  the current biome "transitions" are revolting, not to mention the brain breakage on finding a desert directly adjacent to a snowy pine forest...
