Ahhhh that's a problem...how do those of us who are still on 1.1 get 1.2.3? If we update it will go straight to 1.2.4
:<

EDIT: Wow that's an impressive list of bugfixes though

The same way you roll back any jar. Find it, download it, insert it, use it.

Find it from where though?

EDIT: Nvm found a place...not sure if linking it is allowed, but just google "minecraft 1.2.3 jar" minus the quotes and you get it.

Thanks ^^

yeah, it's technically piracy so I wouldn't suggest linking to it. :P

Possible major bug with updated server:

Can't seem to click and move stuff around my inven anymore, anytime I click something it jumps between my inven and my hot bar, with a left or right click. So I can't split stacks, move items, or discard items (the R button doesn't seem to work when my inven is full...it worked when it wasn't tho). However it's possible this may be caused by the dodgy way I had to update to 1.2.3, need someone else to confirm.

Also I found a jungle biome at -5318, 2287 , but there's probably a closer one.

EDIT: Bug seems to have stopped by itself after the last time I restarted minecraft...tho I'd restarted it several times before that and it didn't fix it o.=

But you'd think that now bukkit is working with jeb, that they could time the releases a little better x.X
Right when all the servers go 1.2.3, 1.2.4 comes out and no one can get 1.2.3....lol.
to be honest, I got bored of waiting for bukkit to get to a release build, we're actually using a beta. no idea when 1.2.4 dev builds will come out :\

Wow, that's a crap-load of new stuff for an in-between release like this.  The different-colored wooden planks sound awesome, though I hope they don't turn every single already-placed block into some sort of crazy technicolor mess.  I got a real kick out of this one:

I think I've finally started to generate new terrain though I'm not entirely sure

Did come across an ocean biome
I'm tired of swimming

EDIT: Alright, so I stopped after realizing the Ocean biome can span towards 25k in width
I claimed a nice little piece of land and am now going to contently build here in peace
My apologies if I made your world size a little larger than it was before... I was kinda hoping to find a jungle, not an ocean

Idunno why you guys figure it's piracy.

A) You bought Minecraft (right?)
B) Notch is cool (Swedish piratpartiet, etc.), and probably recognizes that (A) is a justification for downloading an old version of the .jar

Alright Kyad, we gotta get back into building Fenris again now that the server's updated. I already went through deck 7 and made use of upside-down stairs in places (just the parts that jut out every 7 blocks, not the entire corridor).

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Per the Terms Of Use on minecraft.net (https://www.minecraft.net/terms):
Quote
The One Major Rule

Do not distribute anything we've made. This includes, but not limited to, the client or the server software for the game. This also includes modified versions of anything we've made. Also, you may not resell any gift codes or licence keys - but of course you can give gift codes as gifts. This is necessary so that we can help stop piracy and fraud - and especially users buying keys that have been fraudulently obtained.

In order to ensure integrity of the game, we need all game downloads to come from a single central source: us. We hope you understand. It's also important for us that 3rd party tools/services don't seem "too official" as we can't guarantee their quality. Make sure to read through our brand guidelines. If you wish to make something pertaining to anything we've made we're humbled, but please make sure that it can't be interpreted as being official. Do not make commercial use of anything we've made.

Regardless of the legal issues behind it (the HLP server is based in the USA and, for good or for bad, is subject to US Law), because Notch is who he is and how he generally treats the user base, respecting their wishes is something that I personally have no problems with.

As I understand it, because of the legal situation, and the fact that the minecraft jar's are copyrighted code from Mojang, sharing the jars falls under the umbrella of copyright infringement and piracy, therefore is not allowed.

I wish that Mojang would make it easier to download older versions of the game, but as their primary focus is still single player, I don't see it happening anytime soon.  Besides, there are a few ways to download older versions or restore them, you just have to look around (*cough*ivementionedafewearlierinthethread*cough*)
