Qaz's server doesn't really require you to generate completely-new terrain; we have plenty of empty space that's already generated and waiting for people to settle down in.  It can just be a bit of a pain to find it on your own, though, since dynmap is still down.

If you join qaz's server, there are tons of places to settle along my rail (funtapaz's rail). It's a very long rail.

Balls my base just got invaded by about 10 zombies that spawned directly inside it due to villagers.

Worse, the server is so incredibly laggy atm I can't fight them off :<
Like chunks are taking 30 seconds to load and I'm taking damage from zombies I can't see >.<
