its my madkitty mk2 loaded with about a million tons of LBX cannons.  It's evil, never make fun of the kitty kat mk2!!! >:
It's a fact.  Stupid people have stupid children.  If you are stupid, don't have sex.  If you insist on having sex.  Have sex with animals.  If you have sex with an animal.  Make sure the animal is smarter than you are.  Just encase of some biological fluke you and the animal have offspring, they won't be as stupid as you are.   One more thing.  Don't assume the animal is protected.  If the animal has a condom, or if female some interuterian device, insist they wear it.  Help stop this mindless mindlessness.  Keep your stupidty to yourself.  This message was brought to you by the Committee of Concerned Citizens that are Smarter than You are.

Yeah, most of them were pretty cool. I just didn't really like the Wing Zero Custom....

The mechs look neat and the background is really good (), but the torsos are tiny and look way too weak to support that kind of weight.

yeah, I know, when i noticed it was way to late ( the pic takes very long to render, multi layered fog + raytracing + atmospheric shadows is kindda heavy on CPU :p )

Someone shoot him. Quick. Thru the head. We need to put this poor deluded man out of his misery.

The Wing Zero Custom is the single best Gundam design ever (in my opinion). I have the Bandai Perfect Grade kit of it, the 'standard' Wing Zero and a 1/60th scale Gundam Wing.

See V? I do like some anime. ;)

Hmm, it's not like I don't know anything about engineering. Ok, one year of STI won't make an engineer out of me, but still I know quite a few basics.
Btw, the toes are made of two parts, dunno if you can see it on the render.

I used pneumatics, as well as spring shocks. I can make it work, but only so long as I can maintain pressure in the reservoir. With leaky rubber tubing, that's only a few days.

The only problem is that there's no place for your mech's toes to have proper hydraulics. We don't see the pistons housings on top of the toes, so they would have to be underneath. They certainly can't go through the toe joint perpindicular to the transit axis. They must be underneath, but the angle of the toe to the foot and the low ground clearance of the center of the foot, means that you would need very tiny pistons or pistons with an extreme transit. We can see no evidence of either. As far as we can see from that render, those toe-tips would have to be actuated by a gear chain or other such contrivance.

It doesn't take away from the render, it just twigs the engineer part of my brain.

well, honestly, there's two reasons why I didn't put the pistons: first, lazyness (:p). But really it would be a matter of minute to add them. second, and main reason in fact: my PC could hardly handle it...if I remember well, the damn thing is around 93000 polys... you can imagine the sufferings of my poor PC. I choosed not to put them, and let some fancy fluff a la Star Trek ( so crappy one, I agree), explain why you can't see them. Synthetic muscle maybe, or some scifi crap like that. I never thought of my PC has being a crappy one, but for really high poly models, it lacks, obviously. really, I'm annoyed by this fact, and I might add the pistons anyway ( regardless of my poor computer's complaints), but really, if the thing on it's own works smoothly, two of them on a detailed landscape ( you couldn't tell from this pic, but it has a damn lot of polys too, plus bump map and other fancy settings) is really draining the viewport FPS down, and in this situation, setting up a scene is more a pain than a pleasure, and I do renders coz I enjoy it. just trust me when i say that the way the thing is designed, it has the most realistic features the small knowledge I have about mechanics ( elctromechanics actually, which makes actual mechanics knowledge even smaller) allowed me to produce :). Anyway, I have an idea: I want to make a trully realistic mech ( ArmS actually in that case, but it doesn't matter), and I get the feeling you have probably more knowledge than I do. So if you feel like it, you could try and make a concept featuring realistic mechanics ( but which would have to sacrify a bit on the altar of polycount ), and I would gladly try to reproduce it as closely as possible :) I could base my next models on this basic structure, changing scales and adding various plates to make a wide range of machines ( I have quite a lot of designs :p ).

the small torso is fine.  makes it look likes its a long range mech.  Something like a mobile howtizer.

They just have eyes and a sculpted chin. An EVA unit has a more 'human' face than most Gundams. Don't the Nadesico mecha have the same sort of human faces?

Oh, and since I mentioned EVA and Nadesico, have you ever watched the opening sequences of both shows side by side? Its hilarious. ;)

I'm not exactly sure if it's The Best (G Double X looks cool too :D) but it sure is Hella Cool! But whatta heck, most of the Gundams look really good ;)
I was quite impressed with the quadra Vulcans Heavy Arms Custom had, at first it made me laugh though :D

Err.. you mean both at the same time :wtf: (tries to imagine) It could at east sound weird :nervous:

Btw Speaking of Nadesico, IMHO one of the best sccenes in it was the "Manual launch of the Aestivals"

But OnTopic, Cool Mechs Nico
I was thinking about trying to model one mysef too :p

I must kill you...:mad2:

Oh, and on a side note, Wing Zero Custom is a very cool much, but it cannot compare to the Hi-Nu Gundam, a kinda of OVA Gundam made for a novel based on the Char's counter-Attack series (one of the series in the UC saga, the *real* Gundam timeline.  Gundam Wing and X just take place in alternate universes, though anyone familiar with Gundam would know that already :D).  Now, let's see if I can't scrounge a pic of the Hi-Nu for you people...

EDIT: Here we go! http://www.gundam.org/special/bonus10ka800.jpg :D I love this thing...
